nah Dave, too much work to do. This is "work pics" remember?

I took along one of the guys today in case I got to feeling bad, didn't know if I'd be able to throw pads. Felt pretty good most of the day, but afternoon and early evening have been on the down side, "my little friend" is on the move. Which is good- the sooner the better.


Made 4 set ups and 3 different sites today. Tomorrow is supposed to be rain.

New scale at the fertilizer plant.

A thank you to everyone for the well wishes too, everyone I mention kidney stones to is like "ohhh, I feel sorry for you- my grandpa/ brother/ uncle had those and said they weren't fun".

Now you got me worried, My dad had them so bad he said he had to get out of his truck on the way home from work and roll around on the ground a bit before he could manage to drive again.

Older brother had one that the pain hit him just after take off in the B-52 with full tanks of fuel, he was not a pilot but one of the crew. Anyone that knows about B-52's knows they can not safely land with fuel load of fuel, wings might snap off, that's not good! They said they could dump fuel but that would not make people happy if they did that over the Great Lakes, so just hang on till mission is over!

Wife had them twice and went to hospital for removal work both times. First time she got sepsis, guess someone screwed up something and had to go back in for major doses of meds. Second time the hour and half procedure to blast and remove them ended up taking 4 hours and she ended up with "Pelvic floor dysfunction". Look it up in Google it is not fun and is only sorta resolved at this point.

Knock on wood I have avoided it so far and will take the ruptured appendix I had 40 some years back over the stones any day! Bad pain for one night then trip to ER to have it cut out and a week in hospital on strong antibiotics and I was good to go!

ER Dr. thinks it's muscle related. Have a couple partially healed compression fractures from years ago. Pain seems to be getting worse. It feels like my back is tied in knots and they're fighting each other. I used to be somewhat OK once I got on my feet but I'm terrified to move for fear I'll get the spasm's. Had one this morning in the doorway to the washroom. Somehow I was able to turn and get my left hand on the tall dresser just outside the door. Then I got turned so both hands were on the dresser and I stabilized myself for about 5 minutes before I tried to move anymore. It was sheer AGONY!

Maybe I should have worded it different that there maybe needs to be a pain and suffering forum.

I'm really glad you're still able to function somewhat with kidney stones. I hope you pass them as soon as possible because they cause extreme pain. When I passed mine and caught it in a strainer I was surprised how something so small could cause so much pain. It was like a large grain of sand. With larger ones I think they can use ultrasound or something to help break them up into smaller pieces. I like seeing all of your work pics. Hope you're 100% very soon.

Couple HVAC change outs. I've got to go take one of them back off again on Monday, its the wrong unit.

Saturday work at the hospital. Big blower unit was bad in package, had to skate off a pad, and out a doorway, to get it on the crane. It was up in a penthouse on the second floor.

Old railroad toe jacks, skates and blocks to get out the door. It was probably 8" or so down inside the threshold to the floor, so we had to block up on top of the skates. Was back to the shop by 12:00, it went pretty slick. The mechanical contractor had a lot of help and I brought 3 guys with me.

Some steel for pan deck on a garage. Old 25 ton still earning her keep.

Fancy tree house, they wanted a hot tub beyond their deck. It was a long ways over there, because there was no place close to set up.

Big tree removal. Had to cut a tree out of the front yard just for a place to lay down the tree from the back yard. I think this may be one of the biggest oaks I've ever taken down. I've taken down some with bigger trunks, and some that were taller, but this one had a lot of wood up in the air, it was like 4 regular trees. We were all day, and we have to come back for 4 more small trees that are still in the back yard.

fun stuff. I would not call that work, so much.

The "work" part of all of this is the overhead, billing, accounting and making a profit at the end of the day - lifting stuff and moving dirt is the fun part.

You knew your in the working class when your TV screen is bigger than your bookcase..

Hey now! I just noticed the name on that bucket truck hauling the chipper! Think I could convince them to let me borrow it and the chipper for a few days, have some "spring cleaning" to do around the property!

I figured they were your long lost relatives. They are a multiple location outfit. They originally started in St. Louis, and opened a couple branches near me. They are big in the muching/grinding/ landscaper supply game also. The original owner went down in a small plane a few years back, the 2nd generation runs it now.

You could just get your own equipment, and have it be your 2nd career.

Well if they are relatives they would probably not admit it!

Problem with getting equipment to start my own business would be then everyone I have not seen in 40 years would be my good buddy looking to borrow things.

Actually just cut and hauled three garden tractor loads of dead wood in 4 foot sections over to the wood shed. Now just have to cut to firewood length and split the larger ones. Actually have to give a shout out to the wife as she was the operator of the zero turn and unloaded most of the wood.

That's why all but one our trailers have pintle rings and the one that doesn't is a 2-5/16" ball - cuts down on the "friends and family" usage.
