Give the track tensioners on the D5 a couple of pumps some time when you have the grease gun out will ya....

Think the idler seal is going out. We've been pumping it up every few days but it slowly leaks back down but no visible sign of grease. Haven't had time to break the track and investigate.

Upper bus parking undercut complete, tested by dirt docs and turned over to the concrete crew. The concrete crew prep'ing the lower loading dock for concrete.

Access road to the arena level to rough grade. Our crew re-used the DGB under the existing asphalt for the access road in order to keep the mud down. It's a 1" minus crusher run, really good material.

Pile of existing crusher run the crew used on the access road. It takes good operators to take up DGB and keep it that clean.

Retainer wall foundation drain we installed over sparky's conduit for the big Cat generator in the upper loading dock. Put a 6" PVC sleeve through the wall before they poured it. Finish grade is the red chalk line on the wall.

Here to make Bridge Law, the 3 axle I have been running can only go 19T, the quads can up that to 22t and bump 24 if not on main highways.

Don't be surprised if it's idler bearings

Very well could be. The idlers are original 2004 vintage with around 6K on the clock IIRC. It's time for a new dozer and let the 5 be a secondary machine.

DM I've seen a couple of those quads around here over the last few years however no trucking outfit I know of runs them. Why would they when they can legally gross 25T on a tri-axle like the one in the first pic.

Scale ticket for some rock Vulcan hauled the job a couple of weeks ago.

25.88 Ton payload

To get 25 ton on a truck here your going to run 4 drop axels weather its 4 pushers or 3 pushers and a tag axel makes for a long dump truck with 4 pushers the tag axel as a strong arm is handy but more expensive and has a taller bed rail so it's hard to load with anything but a loader

So you guys have different weights that you can haul on highways and side roads?

It all depends on what state you are in. Interstate highway is federal (which has its own regs), state and county roads are under separate entities. Some states go by the federal rules, some states are more restrictive than the federal rules, some are less.

Correct - what Crane Op said. Alabama has some generous weight limits on county and state roads.

Now don't get caught with the load on the scale ticket on the Interstate.

Started a new project last week during the 2 spats of bad weather that the most recent spat spawned tornados that ripped through our county yesterday. It has rained 6 out of the last 10 working days. This project is located about 1/4 mile north of where an F3 passed over US HWY 280 yesterday.

Not my picture. Our job site is across the highway from this intersection, to the left of this pic. That tornado destroyed many, many houses in a subdivision right in front of it.

Brought the T250 out of semi-retirement to run the trencher as this job has 600' of silt fence. Used the 279D to carry T-posts, mash them into the ground and string wire while the T250 trenched away. Work smarter not harder - we hate manual labor. ;)

Construction entrance down, silt fence installed and city inspection passed. Now we just need the rain and severe weather to subside but it's March in Alabama and it's just getting started.

Is the silt fencing material attached to the wire, or is that a three part system of posts, wire, then fabric?

Colson it is a 3 part system - T posts, wire and fabric hooked to the wire with hog rings.

On a side note bought a Solsbee's tooth bucket for our T250. It's actually on the 279 in the pick above as it's normal bucket was at the shop for some welding.

Paid $1250 + tax for the bucket and for the money it's a damn nice bucket. It's fabricated well, we'll see how it hold up. The T250 is our spare machine we use around the yard and when needed.

Liked the bucket and the price so much I asked the dealer how much was a set of forks - $675 + tax. Sold. The forks are fabricated very well and seem sturdy, we'll find out as that set of forks is going into the field and we're retiring the Bobcat set that crew has. Now the 250 has bucket and set of forks.

Thanks Jakebreak.

The 325 has been great. It's an F model not the current next gen. so it doesn't have any of the grade features.

I would love to have a 325 next gen but we're very sensitive to debt after being hammered during the Great Recession. Our current backlog is 6-8 months so not strong enough to justify a $300K investment at the moment.

What type of project do ya'll have coming up for the 336F?
