I think that truck is a worthwhile candidate since it is torsion bar suspension. I would put a Cat 1673 to the 5x4 trans. The truck looks like an old Tate Bros. paving of Hudson N.H.
92u3406 you have a worthy looking project it is like a blank canvas lot of possibitities!

Just needs a head and pump rebuilt:20191221_133932.jpg

Already chopped it down to a single screw. Ditched the rubber block/44 SSHD 5.29 rears for a single Rockwell w/locker 3.73 ratio on Airliner. Transmission is about 95% rebuilt, just needs the plumbing and a new tower. 15 speed OD.

Need to fix the cab firewall. Steel is rotted in a couple spots. Probably going to re-rivet the entire cab since most of the aluminum hucks have corroded away. Its a Canadian cab so its all steel minus the aluminum doors and back wall and the fiberglass roof/cowl.

First off is engine mounts reconfigure for length, just at 8” difference. Many builders set up alternate mount bolting positions but that will have to be looked into.

If I was repowering from a 6v92, I would prefer a 3406b, big cam cummins, or a 60 series detroit (if you don't mind wiring and have room for air to air).

I wouldn't want to go to all the work of repowering to swap from 6v92 to 8v92, if you are planning on driving it. If its just going to be a toy, I don't think it matters.

I saw this video years ago on 6v92 to 8v92 swap, copperhead marine has some interesting material, assume he must be on HEF from time to time.

This is another favorite, so smooth, this video makes we want that 8v92
