I have a takeiuchi tl 140, I'm thinking about replacing it with a tl 10. Does anyone know when they put tier 4 def on these machines. How can you tell if these machines have high flow. also are these good machines.

Thanks

They are sub 75 hp machines. They have a DOC and a DPF but are not DEF. If they have high flow you should see 4 aux hyd ports and a smaller case drain line. I have never owned one butTaki builds quality equipment generally speaking. The 10 doesn't spec overly well, lower aux flow 18 gpm and even high flow is only 32 gpm. The breakout is about 6500 pounds which is also not great. All that said doesn't mean they are not a quality machine. All depends on what is important to what you want to do with it. It is not going to be the horse your 140 is.

I'd stay away from the tier4 dpf system. They are problematic. Not so much on that machine but longevity just isn't there. How many hours? Pull the lines on the turbo and check for oil before you buy

Are you buying new or used ? Dpf aside they are probably one of the best machines we have added to the fleet. Customers love them. We have had Case, Deere, bobcat, kubota and a few yanmars over the past few years all new track skids added to the fleet have been tl8, 10, and 12s. I prefer the sitting position in the cab. You sit up higher and get a better view. Feels more comfortable to me. I can work the controls in a far more relaxed position. Undercarriages have been very durable so far. They seem to detrack less. The t590 650s we still got account for about 90 percent of the lost the track service calls we get. We do however get a lot of bent hand holds on the front as they are huge and a lot of bend front rops and busted front lights. The way the cab has the " visor " built into it people seem not to pay attention to that extra length. The only down side we have seen and get told alot from customers is the cab doors don't seal and more dust gets in. They do seem to be more dirty inside than the bobcats. But those are the only minor issues we have had so far.. They have proved to be rental tuff machines so far.

Rental tough how many hours on these machines before they goto the auction? I worked at a rental company for years. Our rental fleet was great but customer machines where a disaster with the kubota dpfs.

Thanks for everyone response. I was going to buy a used one, i didn't think they still make a tl 10 model. I just used on farm, not really a money maker. So didn't want to send money for new one.

Does anyone know what year they put def on there machines, i'm guessing the government mandated it. Would it be worth buy a machine without def, but might have more hours.

The tl 10v2 machines have 75 hp but still about same spect. I don't understand how their doing that.

In everyone opinion is buying machine out of rental fleet had a rough life over a construction company.

Most of a skids and tracks stay around for about 1800 or so. But it depends on other factors than hrs sometimes as well. The first big batch of tl8s we aquired are up in the 550- 600 hr range now.
