Hello all,

I am having trouble finding the scavenge screen for this tractor
D6T ZJB00289

The transmission suction screen behind the 4 bolt cover is easy to spot. It was clean with very little filings on the magnets.

In the parts blow up it looks like there should be a small screen (item 3 below) trapped inside a hose connection at the very bottom of the torque converter housing. I removed a connector that looks just like the diagram ( 4 bolt split flange o-ring face connector) located at the bottom of the torque converter housing, right beside a drain fitting, and there was no screen anywhere to be found.

Possible its been removed? Should I reinstall?Screenshot_2021-01-20 Parts Manuals.png

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
The best way to ensure that you are on the correct hose is to look for a Part Number tag (294-3345) on the hose. The tag ought to be right next to one of the end fittings. Have you looked under the other end of that hose just in case someone got it in the wrong place.?

FWIW I'd reinstall the screen if you confirm that it's missing. There is no documentation anywhere I can see relating to it having been required to be removed for any reason.

Did you remove & clean the transmission scavenge screen as well.?
Oh, and replace the transmission breather.?

The Torque converter scavenge screen is definitely the hose I disconnected. No screen in there. I ordered a new one.
The trans scavenge screen is buried behind a weldment for the ripper. The bolts for everything is buried behind other weldments, and I can't say how to attack it. That is the screen I started this business with.

I was going to clean the trans breather. I should just get a new one too.

That screen is a little dome shaped thing that's a loose fit in the housing. If someone has taken the hose off previously it may have fallen out and been lost.

And there's also a screen inside housing #18.
