I thought I would start a thread I bet we could keep going to showcase ridiculous loads we see out there.

Here is #1. Dually pickup towing what appears to be a full size or nearly full size school bus. It was going nearly highway speed downhill but slowed to a crawl up this small hill. Poor quality pictures grabbed by passenger, not enough road to get far enough away to get the full rig in the frame.

That's the problem with a diesel pickup and a goose neck-People trying to fly under the radar of CDL's, DOT, Licenses, Insurance. The way that is stopped is raise the dollar amount 25% for every
pound the rig is over-plus a report sent to their insurance company so the insurance company can raise the rate by 50%. Stick it in and break it off.

Both combinations above would require a CDL anywhere in the US according to the Fed Rules - unless of course it was government then they exclude themselves from their rules. :rolleyes:

Both trailers look to be min 18K GVW hooked to a 9K+ GVW single axle and 13K+ dually - no getting under 26K GCWR.

I'm betting he had no tonnage on that truck either. I can't say just how angry I'd be as a law enforcement officer, but my gut says they don't have nearly enough book to throw at them. They need way more book for things like this. Jail time, revocation, all that and more.
I drive a SB 3500 Cummins powered truck myself, and 'friends' ask me if I would tow this or that. I set my limits lower than Ram does for my personal driving.

How does the number system work on small wheel loaders like that? For reference, I know that 906 is 11k and 908 is 14k. Are the last two digits tip load in thousands of pounds? I would think metric tonnes would have to come in somewhere.

with wheel loaders and crawler loaders, there's no rhyme or reason connecting weight to model number.

Been a slew of ring tails caught around here, MoDOT has been running spot inspections and portable scales along MO19, US50 and MO100 for a few months, lay low a few days and resume. Tow company out of Washington MO and other at Montgomery City have been full up as to impound yard for a few weeks as fines have gotten really bad due to screw ups they find.

Jd 410 with extendahoe I have scale ticket that puts that model like that at 22 thousand plus pickup and trailer they are way over combined gvwr and a new model 710 with a cab is just shy of 29000 a friend broke his 15 ton tilt after a 710 on it every day for about a year busted frame

I don't have a "before" picture, but I've got the "after". This guy's shop is close to mine, drove by and saw this loaded up, said to my coworker - "he's going to dump that mess". Too much on not enough truck.

Sure enough, a couple days later the main highway was shut down. He popped the hill be-bopping along, and the downhill corner was too much. Backhoe bucket busted through the deck, threw the whole works off, trailer hammered the truck bed. Backhoe, truck and trailer ended up in the oncoming lane and ditch, thankfully no one was coming.
