Looking at an svl75 or 65. How good is the cab filtration?

One thing I hate is a dirty hvac system, somewhat difficult on construction equipment I know but just recently got a kx040 and am not pleased with the cab filtration. How pathetic. I guess the filter behind you is the only one. I saw a similar set up on the svl’s. Is that the only cab filter? A min x doesn’t get into the dust nearly as bad as a track loader so no way would the kx’s set up be good on the svl. Trying to think of a good way to seal it better and use a better filter. How’s the svl’s filtration?

There are some posts on here about how bad the filtration is on Kubota skidsteers, and how hard they are to clean. I believe the SVL95 is the topic, but they all are pretty much designed the same. I had 3 different SVL95's in one rental period while mulching. None of them kept dirt and dust out of the cab, nor did they keep the cab cool on hot days. Not a good experience with them for sure.

That’s not good to hear. What year models? A dirty clogged hvac on equipment is the worst. I have a rtv1100 I need to tear into because the recirculate filter is a joke. It completely sucks from there even when shut. I’ve since blocked it off but it really kills the flow.

All three rentals I tried from Kubota were 2019 models. We will never rent or buy a Kubota CTL, at least not until they do something different with the HVAC. In fact, we just got another new Bobcat CTL a couple of weeks ago. I like Kubota, but not their HVAC. Oh, and by the way, that stupid overhead door they have will not close tight enough to keep dust out either.

I did read your thread. You had a mulcher too that leaked?

I went and looked at my front door on the kx040 and it seals tight. I looked at a couple of svl’s today and thought it was a crappy seal from the outside. Might be a good seal on the inside though.

We had rented a Kubota SVL95 with a mulcher. We already had a big grapple bucket to stack brush. We planned a one month rental. In the first 3 weeks of that month, they tried 3 different SVL95's, and not one of them was usable. The A/C on all 3 was terrible, and hard to clean. When the sliding door got heavy dust in the tracks, which was every few hours, you could then not get the door to close tight unless you took an air gun and blew out the tracks. The bottom of the door still did not seal on 2 of the 3 machines we had. After 3 weeks, we just gave up on the Kubota rental and told the Kubota store to come get the machine. These were all nearly brand new machines. We could not even keep it cool and dust free when using the grapple to stack brush. There have been several postings about how poorly the Kubota engineers designed the HVAC system in the skids/CTL's. Plus, the third machine had a problem with the DEF that could not be fixed in the field. So far our Bobcat has been great. My son-in-law has 3 Cat CTL's. He has had really good results with all three. So, I would be careful about the Kubota machines if you want good HVAC and a fairly clean environment for the operator.

I have a 2017 SVL75-2. 800 hrs. on it and can tell you that the filters don't work. The exterior filter does not fit the housing and leaks. The interior filters are like the ones you find in a car. Dirt and dust in machine all the time.

That sucks. What brand has the best cab filtration?

I’ve got a Bobcat T595. In addition to dirt work I do a lot of mowing/mulching with my eterra rotary cutter. I have no complaints with A/C, heat, or cab filtering.
