In the case of the problem persisting, take a look at the wiring between the park brake switch and the ECM.
There are two wires, E734 & E735, between the switch and the ECM. The ECM has to see continuity to ground on E735 and open circuit on E734 with the park brake switch in the ON position, and continuity on E734/open circuit on E735 when it is in the OFF position.
The common is ground wire C214. See below.

I happened to still be at the shop. I was definitely starting the engine with parking brake switch in the on position. If I start the engine with the switch off I get the same trouble code but immediately. Starting the engine with the park switch in the on position the code is only displayed when I have the parking brake switch in the off position with directions to apply the parking brake and after doing so with out shutting the engine down the code goes away. So logic tells me that the ECU or TCU is recognising the inputs from the switch. Knowing that same kind of "logic" has bit me on the ass before I will check the switch first, easy enough. Thinking down the line to a possible park brake pressure sensor issue. I would assume that pressure to release park brake must seen as present before it actually allows movement.

It won't do anything unless the inputs from the switch (ground on one contact, open circuit on the other) are correct.

I forget. Did I send you the electrical schematic for it..?

So with the park brake switch in the off position. I have open circuit between Between c214 and u734 and continuity between c214 and u735. With the park brake switch on I have continuity between c214 and u734 and open circuit between c214 and u735. That is exactly opposite from what was stated just can't see how the wires would have gotten backwards as we have had none of these wires seperated.

So I figured the reason that the park brake would not release and the code. The left hand joystick that lifts up for seat entry was not engaged all the way down. Now I just have the general steering fault code with no other codes so I think I am down to the steering calibration.
