Genie Z-45/25 drive pressure adjustment ???

We have a z45/25 underground at our mine, the dealer no longer supports Genie products. so we have zero support to fix a brake test problem we are having.

what the unit is doing is it is driving through the brakes during a brake test. Underground we need to do a dynamic brake test so its a full load shot to the hydrostatic drives.

We checked pretty much everything we can, the only thing we can see that is out of spec is the drive pressures are around 4150-4200 psi maxed out. we do know the reliefs in the pump are set at 3750psi so we aren't sure if this is a normal pressure or not.

I've tried to adjust the Max-out and threshold of the joystick, With the max-out though it doesn't seem to be changing the speed of the function.

Thanks in advance,

Did you look at the traction manifold on the non steer end ? Where the brake valve is .

Do you have the service manual? Available at genie website.
We do have the manuals, doesn't say much about the problem we are having. The way genie does the brake test and the way we have to do the brake test is different. ( underground mod ) .

We did have a look, we took our the 3 flow dividers and found that they were backed out of the caps a little. But that didnt change anything. We are getting proper charge pressure.
One thing I did find is I'm getting about 10-14 psi at the brakes when doing the brake test. I traced the hoses from the wheel end to the solnoid valve for the brake then the hose heads up to the cooler and tees in with a #12 hose that heads to the tank filter.

Tried with no tank filter and the pressure dropped to about 8psi. But the brakes still didn't hold.
I capped off the brakes from the rest of the system and it held during a brake test... but 8-14 psi at the wheel end shouldn't be starting to release ?

So your asking the machine to perform a brake test and pass even though it is not the way the manufacturer tells you to perform a brake test in there service and owner’s documentation??? It’s not hydrostatic drive do how do you expect to get dynamic braking from the final drives ??

Why can’t you just do the normal brake test? Is this a company policy or something? Did you try pulling the coil off the brake valve but keep it connected, the brakes should be locked and it should try and drive to test them.

To be underground here they need to do the brake test that way. Not sure if that's a regulation thing or a company policy.

The brakes are probably worn a bit, but there's no information since the company that sold the lift no longer supports Genie.

Looks like they have a new 60' lift coming in now. think this is headed for the stope.
