Onan 30 kw cuts power on and off

Is there some kind of load connected to it? It sounds like the engine lugs down. If no load is connected, that power is going somewhere and it's not good.

I was running the throttle a littel by hand. It stays between 60 and 62 hertz. If it stays steady at any frequency it wont power up at all. If I work throttle that little bit it will come on and off.

possibly the voltage regulator is faulty and voltage is going high and over voltage circuit is cutting it out. Both low and high voltage lights or flashing. Remove the exciter leads plus and minus apply 12 volts DC and watch the voltage.

It now seems to running good and producing power I think it was just the RPM was off a bit causing it to kick in and out. Now my issue is both the lights for high scale and low scale are on. It should be on low scale as it is wired single phase. What would cause this?
