There are 4 or 5 Loggers with Brutus here in town, With the exchange on the dollar it would be affordable.

In my memory the original boxes were custom engineering. The outfit i worked for as the welder fab guy tasked me with loggerizing our pickups so we poached some of the Custom Eng Ideas and took my drawings to an outfit with good brake and shear capacity called Rebco up in Dashwood north end of Qualicum. We built a bunch of them as well as a few home projects . I still have one on my old 77 f250 parked in my bone yard at home. After that Rebco built 100s of them.Ill try and clear the alders and post pics of the 77. That was early to mid 80s . Ive had the 77 since new ,( a whole 8400.00 off the lot from Dave landon Ford in Port Hardy) With a canopy i might add.

What might the purpose of the hose reel? To fill the brake water tank? At least it appears (to my failing eyes) to be a hose reel.

Heard from Hank Suderman and he thought It is a 1952 LMSWL Mack. Still wondering if the Mack is the first H 17 or not.

Thanx HDX. You are right about P16 former MB truck:). It is old #H323 now LLL unit #T320.
Re. H297. When new did HDX H294 go to Eve River Div as well? I know H293 did. H295 must still be going strong as a water truck. Is that an Eve River truck as well?
Eve River got H291 to H298 brand new in 1968-1969

Sander trucks have another special feature. Take a look at posted pictures (MB Unit #H33, H297 and H278) of sander trucks, none of them got stacks. The warm exhaust is guided through pipes to sander box to heat up the sand during winter time.
They did have their own motor, to run the hydraulics to run the spinners, open the gates and raise the box. You had to work at them to keep them sanding. The top of the load would freeze and Chunks of frozen sand would block the gates. It was a challenge for sure.

This week I had to go to Port Alberni to cut up the steel and overhead cranes from the Sproat Lake shop. Just wondering if anyone had pictures from inside the shop from back in the day.

It was one of the nicest shops around. Its scorched earth policy for industry around here now. My old yard was a waterfront industrial site , now its a paved walkway with a bit of grass and trees. But im told the economic benefits of all this green space are enormous.???
