I am wondering if anyone has used these and their thoughts. I'm looking to get a 7 or 8' one. Also anyone know where to get a good used one? Any thoughts appreciated.

Mine works great. I have an older 7' model hitched to my dozer. It uses the Trimble GCR-2 receivers. I guess that makes it a "Triple Dozer".
It should be noted that it doesn't do well in caliche, but is great for sub grade work spreading gravel and topsoil.
Good luck on finding a used one, they are few and far between. Check Iron Planet, Machinery Trader, Craigslist, Ebay, etc. Good luck.

You got further than I did with Hitch Doc, they wouldn't send me anything. You might be in good shape if you have a pin-out schematic for it, but it would require swapping ends with your old connector. I wound up just transferring all the components into a plastic switch box with a blank cover. Had to replace one switch and installed new boots. Still working good. I attached the factory clip to a 60 lb. magnet to hold it to the machine. Not quite as compact but the price was right.

That looks great , the magnet idea is brilliant I don't know why they didn't do that to begin with ,I always worry about the controller during transport. Where did you find the replacement switches?

Switches, boots, and circular connectors I believe I got at Allied Electronics.
https://www.alliedelec.com/

LED's and LED holders are from Amazon

J-box and blank cover from Home Depot

Magnet from Harbor Freight

Note: If you plan on undertaking this swap, I don't recommend de-soldering wires from the electrical components and re-soldering. Instead, cut the cable 24" back from the remote controller and butt splice back together after the component swap. I'm planning on replacing the butt splices with a circular connector when I get time.

I found a website that might be able to help us retrofit these antiquated attachments
it looks like he has many different options from new harnesses to wired and wireless remote systems

Thank you. Interesting site. I prefer referring to them as LEGACY equipment - makes me feel younger ;):). I have an inquiry going, so we'll see what they say. At least they have a reasonable deal on the DIN connectors for the hydraulic valves - going to order a few. I see that they use the Deutsch connectors exclusively, so I asked if they have a Deutsch/Cannon adapter.

They are Located in Bellingham, WA, about 75 miles from me, and they charged me $15 to ship three $8 DIN connectors. So consider that if you order anything from them.

Here are the results of my inquiry:
I have a legacy Hitch Doc Dual Dozer (two DA hydraulic cylinders) that uses two Trimble GSM-2 laser receivers which run into a junction block, and is remotely controlled with a compact controller. I believe it is a 14 pin Cannon circular connector on the controller. Do you think it's possible that your Super Controller can be used with this system? Currently using it with a Mustang 2040 which is the hydraulic and electrical power source. The basic functions of the controller are: 1) Independently operate the right and left DA cylinders. 2) Select automatic or manual modes. 3) Vary the speed of the hydraulic cylinders. I have the wiring diagrams, pinouts, and pictures if required.
"As long as it uses 12 volt drivers, it will work. There are 8 momentary controls and 2 latching.
Cheers,"

Thank you. But my controller has a potentiometer that controls the rate the cylinders extend and retract. Would I have to forego this function? It is very useful for fine grading at low ground speed. Also, do you have an adapter for Deutsch to Cannon?

"Yes, you would have to give up that control and no we don;t deal with Canon connectors.
Sorry, but this is probably no the solution you are looking for."

My take is that they don't see a market for it, so they don't care to get involved. I actually think that their "rental" system would work for me since I use the Dual Dozer with two different machines. I would, however, have to forego the variable rate function, and figure out the Deutsch connector pinout. What are your thoughts? Too much of a hassle?
