I left the MP where it sat for a week to get the rest of the trench project done and ready for back fill. I filled in what I could without moving where it was. I grit me teeth and carefully started seesawing back an forth trying to work away from the excavated dirt and a dead tree. With much care I got the front end more down hill and was able to back up some before I hit some wet manure and the down hill tire started spinning. After hand shoveling and gaining a few inches each time it stopping moving. I set a chuck of log in front of the rh rear tire as a chock. Flipped the seat around and reached out with the hoe and tried pulling it uphill. She moved a few feet then I'd lose that ground while trying to figure out how to keep it. Finally I used the stabilizers to hold me.. I'd get out and move the log up each time. Finally up and off the slope. Sun after putting some weight it the bucket I'll back down in and finish the back fill.

Last Sunday I backed the "MP" in to back fill the trench. I still have the 24" bucket and it dug well with it for my project. I slid my "new to me" 16" bucket in the front bucket for extra front weight. It took a couple hours since I am still learning this 3 lever and foot pedal controls.
While backing in the thing jumped out of low range and made for a scary moment or 2 while on the hill. It had jumped or slipped out a couple times before but I thought that may have been operator error. I did some searching on the site and found the remedy. Looks like a woodruff key in the shifter could be the issue. I then remembered the PO did mention it would come out of gear.. Guess my excitement to get it put back together made my brain go numb.
I have to get my 2nd cutting of hay put up next (this includes rebuilding my hay rake) and then I'll tear the "MP" back down and check out that possible worn key.

Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since I started the thread. THE "MP" has been awesome, still running strong and gets used frequently. I have done a few repairs as in cylinder kits and changed to a 16" bucket with new pin and bushings. Never did get to the low range issue, just been dealing with.....lol.
I just wanted to drop back in and say "Hey!!!!".. Rumor has it I maybe starting a new thread on the tractor Loader page... Will I ever learn???? LOL
