As bad as this sounds, these days if you can drag your butt to work on time you're head and shoulders above most of today's workforce. Just sucks because most of the more experienced and older folks just assume you're a lazy idiot for being under 30. To me, on time is standing at your toolbox, ready to work 5 minutes before start time.

Nephew and I had this discussion just last night, he is a store manager for Harbor Freight outside St Louis, are going to open a store in Washington MO near to us some point in time in August and he is setting that store up now where will return to his when complete and running. They hired some 22 people including manager trainees, to which as the store materials began arriving the new hires found out that THEY assemble the shelving, and place the inventories, so far 18 including the manager trainee have quit. Did not expect to HAVE to work so hard, do not want to work rolling schedules, were not 'Aware' was going to be hands on work(ALL explained when hired on). Are still interviewing applicants where around a third of them cite the same issues, want to run a register as in stand out front and sell stuff, want no hard work.

I've always looked at work this way:

I'm giving an employer MY time for an agreed upon dollar amount per hour for X number of hours a week. They're able to utilize me as they see fit (provided the task is not unsafe/unreasonable). If they want to pay me mechanic wages to clean the breakroom or answer phones for an afternoon, that's the boss's choice. I'm on the clock and the paycheque is still the same at the end of the week.

It’s really sad my whole house and farm flooded. (Lost everything )

I’ve been trying to pay people straight cash of about 200 a day for 8-10 hours and nobody even wants to help.

it’s either to hot out or they are just to busy to make money Even the unemployed people.

when I was younger I heard cash and jumped. Even now if I wasn’t trying to rebuild Everything I still jump for cash most of the time

updated ***** the Work Was everything from pushing a broom draining water out of small engines pressure washer lawnmowers possibly working on a car a tractor a truck picking up stuff I was pretty open for any job the person with a skill and was willing to do. I’d let them do

Damn Rich, I hate to hear that. If we were closer, I'd just give you a few days.

Thanks I believe That . I’m out in the middle of eastern Oregon . Mostly high desert can’t believe I flooded .

I have a lot of older people that want to help but 70 plus They should be out fishing and boating not digging though mud. It’s really had to find good work ethic in the younger gens Their a few but hard to find.

Yeah it was pretty interesting and really came through I’ve been told by officials it one of them once in 1000 years or once in 5000 year flood but it sucks to be the owner in that 5000 years.

It’s all good I’m getting low on money so there’s gonna be a small break in repairs then I’ll start up again later on Very slow and steady .

I might hit you up for some info when I try to buy some more equipment around here. I’ll be looking for a truck and trailer in the fall a D8 . Whatever I’ll need first of course this Will all be nice very used equipment

Did insurance cover anything?

I know those greedy pricks screwed everyone during the northern Alberta floods.

Did insurance cover anything?

I know those greedy pricks screwed everyone during the northern Alberta floods.

they covered very little it’s amazing how much is not cover and it was all custom wood flooring Cabinets and other things definitely didn’t cover enough to replace it how it was on what they did cover.

A Levi broke and the river went a new Direction it’s been about six months and no one’s even started working on it they are still arguing if they’re going to fix it and who might pay for it. But Insurance is not accounting for that or FEMA till possibly next spring when I flood again they say let’s just wait and see

One Government agency suggested I build my own Levi and walked me around and show me what to do. But they left out how or where all the rock and dirt is coming from. And I’m barely keeping everything filled with diesel right now

if I didn’t have 2kids and a baby I’d sell everything and get a big RV .
