way back when 68-69 I had just pulled in to a parking spot at the old Colton Texaco ts in cal. two trucks to my left headed the other way had their rear doors open and 4-5 guys watching . across the lot came a guy on a big motorcycle headed for a single 2x10 about 12 ' long propped in one of the refer trlrs he`s doing about 20 I`d guess and he almost made it into the trlr . just about time the rear wheel cleared the halfway point of that board it broke`dumped him bike&board upside down back into the parking lot. the guy was still alive when the ambulance hauled him away . did not ever hear whether he survived or not but I have my doubts the bike had to be 6-700 lbs. he probably weighed 220

Nothing like adding another 1,000 lbs of static load to it by hitting it hard. Most likely would have broke anyway but he may have had a chance of not getting quite as injured going slow.

Too easy to get a wrecker to lift or someone with a dock ramp to allow loading, going cheap and quick tends to end badly. Herder loading the freight shaker evidently had no clue as to how to drive, what a power divider is for, how NOT to load a tandem etc etc etc. Been better off to use another truck as a helper to get up the ramp then load it GENTLY, or if not incorrect is at a yard with a LARGER towmotor so could have aided with a push until duals were able to drive forward.

Actually I really dislike the idea of video capabilities with the cell phone/or cell phones at all. But in this case as shown above as long as every video shows stupid people doing stupid stuff that's good.
Problem is someone probably was holding his beer, the 5th one he had that day. Instant stupid -just add alcohol.

What I can't figure out, is how they didn't get a driveline, axle, or third member. I guess with no weight on the tires, they would freely spin, and saved the drive system.

Old Diamond wrecker I ran had one like that but we had converted it to spring cans so no runaways
It would take a fancy and drop thru slot in w/s cornice at any given time or bounce
Finally removed for a buzzer.
