Razz, sound great. Are you looking to sell them? I haven't checked the cost of those parts yet so I dont even know what they cost. Actually I also need to located a new seal for rear input shaft beacause it started dripping after the winch warmed up in operation.

I have a similar problem and am wondering if someone can point me toward a service manual. I have a D7 with a cable winch controlling the blade. The D7 was made in the 1940's (Serial #4T7914)-I have the manual for it, but not for the winch controlling the cable. The D7 is in great shape overall, but it is getting difficult to get the winch to engage and raise the blade. Without a manual, I don't know if I need to make adjustments or replace parts. The D7 is in NW Nevada, where I mine for opal, and a new mining season is starting soon.

Thanks--I'll try eBay. I'm not familiar with the ACMOC site, but I just checked it out online and it sounds like a good possibility. I really appreciate the response.

You are going to have to supply some model and serial numbers before anyone can do you some good. There were front drive units and rear drive units and a couple different makes of winch I think. At the least you should probably have a photo of what you are working on.

Head over to ebay and pick up parts, service and operating books. You might have $50 into it. Then you will have all the information needed. Get the appropriate book that covers your ser#

Hello guys im taking one of these apart and I can't get the clutch adjustment sleeve to spin off. She's tight. can I apply heat to help me out?

What CCU are you referring to. Front or rear mount CCU? Need the CCU Model number and the CCU to even start to look in one of my manuals to see what you are looking at. To you have a manual for your CCU. It will be a separate manual than your machine. Many times you can find Cat manuals covering multiple CCU manuals on e-bay quite cheaply.

I have not had to pull a front one down so not sure. I helped put clutches in a rear mount one a few years ago but don't remember any issues other than rust and ground fiber sticking the discs a bit. We never had to pull the drums on that one. I would be surprised if a little careful heat would hurt anything.

I tried both directions. 3/4 inch air gun it should spin off easy right? Broke my breaker bar and one impact socket. Do I use heat or soak the whole unit in diesel? Or 1 inch air gun?
