Okay, because there was an old time tractor, impliment and truck company named Avery who had a line of equipment named Corn Queen. They went bust during the depression, but made some sort of come-back during WWII

OOPs, I think there are some duplicates in these photos, but I am not sure how to correct that. Anyway, yes, it does rain in Texas, and get muddy.

1995 was called to jobsite, bring gas axe. Had a Texoma Rig found a buried rr track rail digging hole for 60' tall wooden pole hole, sent me down on a rope with a thirty foot torch hose set to cut the rail as the auger drove past it. Was about ten feet down IIRC. Cut rail and back out standing on auger. THAT would not even fly today.

Got the jib put on the freshly painted 430 just because it’s never been on there since we’ve had it and getting the 790btc rigged up with 140’ of boom for load testing i boomed down with 20k lbs over the rear to 110’ radius and the boom brake started having a hard time holding but it wasn’t tipping with the 16k lbs front bumper weight on. The chart says i can lift around 10k without the bumper at 110’44F55A9E-AC11-4E0B-BCB4-AC39660743AB.jpeg 92861993-1B27-49E1-83F1-621FE588965A.jpeg 7532FE1E-D332-471A-805F-7FE5D22118B3.jpeg

Still amazes me how many antiques as these still work for a good living, solid, dependable and although a handful to operate efficiently are still simple machines

No computer saying sensors don’t agree. It either works or something is broken
And if the trend is still going those old machines command higher prices on many of the auction sites.

I can really understand that too! If you were out in the middle of some jungle trying to make a living with a small dozer and front end loader would you want to have to depend on some machine with a wiring diagram that would cover the side of a rail car or one that you could sketch out on a 3X5 index card?

Now if you are talking about a major operation with a couple dozen or more 200 ton haul trucks and the assorted machines to load and move the earth for them the story that would be different story altogether!
