walker, Not sure if you would get lucky like I did a few years ago. At the shop we had a good assortment of those OTC sockets and it was a pain digging through cardboard boxes trying to find the one I needed. So I called OTC to see how much they would charge for a pair of the display boards so I could hit the boss up for buying them. Well I must have called at the right time and got the right guy on the phone. When I told him what I was looking for and that we had almost a complete set he said where do you want them shipped and he said he'd send them out the next day free of charge!

Worth a phone call! You don't have to tell him where you bought them!
I might try that of i ever build my own shop for now i have them jammed into my service truck, i would never put them on display at work fricken people will always put an impact on them for some reason. Prolly a good thing im the only person working on trucks .

Now that i have truck done ,king pins and rear suspension rebuild was definitely a dumbass that previously worked on this truck. Both pivot centers full of apprentice marks, torch marks on suspension caps, king pin seal put in backwards on bottom on top of kingpins seals were installed on top of the needle bearing also backwards. Smh

My buddies truck 88 pete with a 3406b . All 4 govenor flyweights got broken. View attachment 217732
4mg27749 serial number looking up parts for the govenor 1st arrangment is all the new updated parts ? The next arrangment rite below it shows the original as built stuff ? It shows the original weights part numbers that i took out . The bulletin i read shows new updated weights and races those are in the first arrangment , cat is so confusing at times . If the new weights and needle bearing races are better why would they even still have availibility on the old stuff? I can get new or old at local store in stock.

Figured it out sis is pretty vague on installing the shut down solenoid. Have to put vise grips on manual shut down shaft and hold it in full off while installing solenoid, I figured it was something dumb i did .

Starting on the farm trucks early this year now that they are done using them till harvest. I think i found the noise they were starting to hear last harvest. Which fully explains why the wheel seal started leaking.FB_IMG_1592011928006.jpg

Thousands of miles left in those bearings - well at least there are if you’re a farmer....:rolleyes:
Ya think i coulda just readjusted it then lol. Hub was moving when i was taking the tires off
Last year i went thru the front end of this truck looks like the back half is getting the attention this year . He farms 2 hours away from the home farm also , this truck is the most used. It makes quite a few trips thru the year.

Damn straight, This younger generation and their throw everything, everything must be new ideals.

Why I was just fixing my 6ft slasher (brushhog) and thought these gears have at least another thousand hours in them, why they should outlast the slasher deck which has lots of "lightening" holes in it. So back together they go. :D

Yep those things some see as pits are actually oil retention pockets, too smooth a surface and the rollers will squeeze out the oil while with the retention pockets the oil will stay in the bearing!
