One genset was a 3406B, the other I believe a KT cummins. I helped change the radiator out of the cat I think 7-8 years ago. They both had full enclosures that we hauled out first, then the gensets on their skids.

It's the electrician's to deal with. Tag says 515hp. I think some governor and plumbing changes, and it could be a truck engine. But I think the electricians are going to make a trailer and mount it up as a portable genset.

I need more projects like I need another hole in my head, so I didn't even ask. I already have 1 3406 in the back yard in a freightliner, and a core in the corner of the shop, so I'm not really in the market.

The kt is kinda interesting looking, but I hear parts for them are $$$$$.

The truck almost made it out of the development. The hauler's stretch trailer is a fixed neck mechanical detach, and he got high centered. The last one we did, we had to set the crane up twice more in the development to get around the corners, but they sent a short wheelbase tractor this time.

We just hooked the counterweight truck and pulled him off the high center and got him down the road.

Internal corrosion finally get to them?

They have to pass a inspection, state mandate, and I think the inspections have gotten a little more rigorous. I think they sandblast them and paint them. I've seen old ones that were fiberglass relined, but I don't think they do that anymore, they just paint them.

Off to bed with hydraulic cylinder parts in the freezer. The two white outer backers were really standing out after I installed them. The hydraulic shop that last rebuilt this cylinder rolled one on install. So trying to get them to shrink up good so I can put it back together in the morning.

I don't think I want it super duper cold, the seals still have to slide past the walls and not be brittle. I was just having a hard time to get the backers shrunk back up. Its not a bushing. And sorry to worry you dave, its just a black rag...

I’m surprised there are 2 backup rings on that seal. I wouldn’t think that seal would have pressure in both directions on it.

Well then I would just engineer that extra ring right outta there. But that’s just my 2cents without actually seeing it.

Doing a add on inside a tourist attraction. Its going to be a theater type ride, seats mounted on a movable table and a large screen. Got a pretty small doorway to work through, mainly been setting iron for the seat platforms to fit onto. Going to set the seat platforms next week.

Installing some steel platforms, 100' away with 20,000 lbs. Tandem pick with a link belt 100 ton rt. The first section we handed off to a carry deck and chain falls inside the little building, the second piece was outside the building.

I took jib off before we went, just for a little extra chart.

That is some Piddlin poor enganearing to get those structures in with the process as it was. Would be asking WHO was the Enga of note that came up with that installation point and required such a low pick angle. My Arse would been sucking the seat cushion cover off or pinching multiple new buttonholes in it!!

Looking back I wish I took some pics. of when they brought a 30 ton P&H crane into West Edmonton Mall to install the new spinning roller coaster. They had to put cribbing in the bottom floor to support the floor above where the crane was parked. They ribboned the crane off and put a sign on it to make it another attraction because the amusement stayed open during the day. The coaster was assembled in the evening and overnight.
