I've got three of those tanks in my pump house, 12 years and counting. I never had much luck with the steel tanks.
They come with a chart to tell you what the precharge should be based on the shut off pressure in the system. I check my precharge at least once a year. One of the pump guys I know says the fiberglass will lose a little air over time but mine have held up well.

3000 PSI?

How much air pressure should my pressure tank have?
This depends on which pressure switch you have. If you have a 40/60 switch, the air pressure in the tank should be set to 38 PSI. The general rule is to set the pressure at 2 PSI below the cut-in pressure (the pressure at which the pump turns on).
To set this accurately, your well pump must be turned off and all water needs to be drained from the tank.

Well today I was gonna go out and buy some grip tape, fer that spot, on the new(to me) snowco trailer. Floor has punched up holes, every 6-8", EXCEPT where the floor has a little beaver tail bend in it. Funny how where you need the grip, none is supplied! Anyway, I happened to remember that a friend had given me a box of grip tiles. Ripped them into 5" lengths, and screwes thm into the area in question. While finding the tiles, I found some leftover 1/2" polystyrene panels, from another project, so I lined the truck toolbox I plan on using to store weedeaters in, with it, to make a cushion, sos the weedeaters don't get all box worn. Closed the lid, and saw the chain at the hand winch a danglin there, so I thought I better do something about that! Since the box latch mechanism is wore out, and not worth replacin, I drilled 2 holes in the top, and stuck a u-bolt through, double nutting it to the top, now to keep the lid down, I just hook the winch cable to the box top!

Who sez this quarantine is all bad, it sure makes a feller think, a little!

Thanks for the offer IOH, but me and SO got our reduced hours and 20% income reduction notices yesterday. So books moved to the luxury list. Crap part for me is company say they will give me 2 day paid leave extra per month because the client I'm at expect 5 days a week and I will be working full hours but pay is reduced. I already forfeited 5 days paid leave for last year because of "operation requirements" at the client.

That's sound like a rotten deal. Good luck. Is the economy that bad there or does your employer does not know the value of good employees.

The economy was already tanking because of urm "government policies" and ratings agencies downgraded us to junk status for investment. I'm pretty sure my direct boss will make a plan, the reduced hours is a directive by the holding company that bought us 3 years ago. Client is also going to complain. And just for laughs, my boss's nickname is Appy.

That is the procedure that I'm familiar with.

I had an irrigation system installed last year on one of my jobs and the tech set the pressure at 2psi above cut out pressure with system fully charged. I haven't thought that through to figure if it's the same thing... system works fine.

Well I can now say, 2020 can just go f itself. A month ago yard broken into, nothing stolen they caught the SOB. Few weeks ago hoe at jobsite someone pried open doors and broke some locks, and now last night my pickup was stolen. Going through the list of what's in there, up to near $7k of contents to replace everything. It's all insured, but going to be a nightmare documenting everything. And the truck, a 2013 ram 3500 just over 100k miles and paid for been a great truck. Now I don't want it back. But I don't want to buy a used truck with that kind of miles, so I either gotta fork out $60-65k+ for brand new and have payments again or at least $40k plus for a low mile used one.

Never realize how much stuff is in there. Keys for all my stuff, paperwork, going to be such a nightmare getting everything sorted out. Was 50/50 hoping the SOB got my address from documents and i'd catch them trying to steal from my house and I could take care of them myself.
