Has anybody thought to pull the suction screen on the transmission to inspect for any particles.?
If the screen your talking about is the one down under on the housing then yes we checked that and was pretty much clean, just a very small amount of tiny specs of brass on the screen. thanks

Check the attachment again please. There are two screens, your mechanic may have removed only one. The 2nd one is more of a pain to get out and is the one most likely to have transmission clutch material in it.
Thanks Nige, I think our mobile only checked one of the screens, the easy one, I will let him know to check both. thanks

Hi everyone, hope all are in good health with this covid 19 outbreak, here's a little update on the tranny on my baby 140H, I am back behind the wheel now and was doing some testing the other day, sense they changed the tranny oil and filter the slipping has seemed to go away in 7-8 gear, but this is what I noticed with the tranny, in 1,4,5,7,8, forward gears you have to let the clutch out all the way to the top to get those gears to engage and they grab very quickly making engagement jumpy, now 2,3,6 forward and all of the reverse gears the clutch engages as it should, meaning the clutch starts grabbing smoothly early on in the clutch peddle release as it should, looking at Marks chart it looks like #1 solenoid could be the culprit, your thoughts anyone? thanks

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
Forward High Clutch would appear to be the culprit.
Look at which Direction Clutch (the left three columns) in Mark's post on Page 1 is used for each gear.
Forward High (Solenoid #1) = 1, 4, 5, 7, & 8.
Try interchanging Solenoids #1 (FWD High) and #2 (FWD Low). See if the problem moves to 2, 3, & 6th speeds forward. If it does it's the solenoid, if it doesn't it's likely inside the transmisison.

Thanks Nige and Mark for the diagram, #1 was the culprit, every thing is back the way it should be in the gears, also during this process we changed out the rad and welded up a crack in the tandem and replaced the leaking seals, my 140H is booked in the body shop for some well needed repairs, the salt in the air here plays hell with the steel, sadly.. I will be on our new 12m3 for the next month or two.
