machine is back up and running. New valve plate fixed the problem. So quick question since tracks are new to me. With the tracks off the ground, I ran the hydraulic system unloaded just to work all the air out since I replaced all filters and the oil. Coming from tire machines, I was surprised how unsmooth the tracks were up in the air. It was like a rusty chain on rusted sprockets?? the tracks did not rotate smooth... enough that I check for bad rollers for loose bearings... but found none. Tracks appear to be tensioned properly but man- they were jumping, binding and scraping enough to cause some concern. They appeared better on the ground but I wasn't expecting that much roughness from rubber tracks?

Well the tracks are metal to metal contact. So they will not sound smooth. If they are bouncing around too much, then your track probably needs tightening.

Good job. Where did you get the valve plate? With the new plate installed and no adjustment of the relief valve, did that bring your pressure up to 5000 from 2200? The old plate didn't look crazy bad
