Figure poke my head in here while I'm in cell phone range for time being. Reason I'm going offline is hunkering down is I'm home and in a place away from any cell phone reception even with a booster and there is no internet lines running here, nor any power lines and the mail only runs 3 days a week. Be safe out there folks and please respect the ones who take this serious.;) Might drop a line next time in range...

I received an offer today. One of them is link to a disgusting rip-off for N95 respirator masks. 10 masks for $59.90 ! Oh, but there is a code you can apply for 10% off. Sheesh :mad:.

We are living good here at home. We can easily survive on our normal to us stored supplies. We have always had two big bags of good toilet paper stashed in the closet with the other staples we purchase on the blowout sales. We are not spending any money running around so I am spending my time on line looking at "new" antique toys to satisfy my addition when this is over. As long as we stay holed and cant spend out money, my stash should continue to grow. My biggest worry that I am concerned about is that I will forget my social skills and be thrown out of Arts Cafe if they survive and are allowed to re-open some day.

I believe it is going to take a lot longer for the economy to recover than it will to recover from the virus. China has reopened some of there manufacturing and opening more each day. As long as we keep buying and don't manufacture much here we will soon find ourselves in this pickle again.

Metallurgical coal mines in southern BC as a subcontractor contractor has been my primary go to for some time now.
The price of coal and virus has been the final blow to that.
And agreed, it will likely be a good few months minimum before things even consider getting back to normal.

Small recreational and entertainment communities as ours will be hurt awhile. Airbnb, General B&Bs, Guest houses, wineries distilleries restaurants all require foot traffic with personal service. Will be months after this is done before any level of return to normal occurs. The Rural community will manage some as livestock still gets bought and sold, meat or produce or grains still supplied for consumption as we still must eat. Loggers will have issues, oil patch personnel will have issues as fuels use has slipped to a minimum, consumer extravagance goods as specialized foods, custom art/decoration pieces, even replacement autos and trucks will be limited for quite a period. Ag industry will manage as always does, mechanics will remain busy as will trade techs for power and fuels or structures repairs. Once this calms out even the truck herders will get a little extra rest as supplies will still be needed but maybe not so heavy a demand for extras.

I'm doing fine.. I rarely leave "the compound" anyway.. & if I do, its to go to the Post Office or the bank..
I pulled up to the bank the other day & there was a LINE of people standing in the Drive-Thru.. WTH.??
THEN I remembered.. the virus.. The bank doors are locked.. lol
The ONLY worry I have is> the wife works at Walmart.!!! & HAS TO deal w/ "Wal-martians" EVERY day.!!
U know the ones.. the people that have on their pajamas to go shopping.... or the ones that have on 2 different shoes..& GREEN hair.. & are always screaming "to see the manager"..
Yeah, those are the people she HAS TO deal with..
Every nite she text me, she's on the way.. or she's warming up the car..
& every nite I text her back, "wash your hands".. lol..
I text THAT so many times, it comes up on my phone automatically.. {no sh!t}
Ya'll stay safe..
