Hello everyone, looking to get a zero tail or near zero tail excavator and have stumbled accross a Volvo ECR235C.... Looking for someone that has run one, owns ones and generally some facts about what people like and don't like about the Volvo machines.

My sales rep has said many many times, that the fuel consupiton is really really low compared to Cat, derre ETC...

Thanks

Since you already have a Deere Try out a 225CLC RTS or D'Series. Their full consumption is right there with Volvo if not better with the Isuzu in it. I will talk more later

Well, I can say that Volvos are usually pretty reliable machines (longetivity) and are very quiet. Sometimes I couldn't even tell if they were running until they started moving.

Well the deere dealers for the skids are differnt then the Excavators dealer and to be honest they haven't impressed me at all, and haven't really been offering much in regards to decenbt priceing on a few of the used machines they have. They even called and offered a customer machine with 3,000 hrs for $120,000 I haven;t seen it but 120K seems to be really top dallor.

In regards to the fuel consumption, even 1 gallon an hr differance adds up when its $5 a gallon....

Hoping to demo both soon :)

I didnt know Volvo made a short swing or no tail swing machine. Being new that would almost make me shy away from it. Make sure they work all the bugs out on someone elses machine, not mine. Working in the demo business tends to be the hardest place for a machine. I know we had all sorts of problems with our Volvos. They were always doing computer updates. Working on concrete, the tracks didnt last anywhere near as long as a cat uc does. They dont make a bad machine tho. For the right price, it may be worth it.
