Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum and recently bought a trailer size headache. I obtained a Massey Ferguson Industrial 30 tractor with loader and backhoe a coupe months back. I picked it up dirt cheap and have been working on correcting it's list of issues...By far the biggest problem has been finding the *correct* parts. But I've managed to muck through most of the major things and really only need to clear this last hurdle before I can put it into service. Thanks in advance for any help!

The PO somehow broke 3 outta 4 links at the bucket pivot and I have had no luck finding them anywhere, even new (might be why it was so cheap). I have included some pics and basic tractor data below.

It looks like this thing is kind of an oddball piece so any help finding these links and/or any additional information on the tractor itself would be extremely helpful and much appreciated!

Info for the tractor is:
Industrial 30 MF tractor/loader/backhoe:
Serial number: 9A I52944
Loader: MF 34 - L8110 7874
Backhoe: MF 54 - 1409 005710

Part no for broken pieces :
Qty. 2 - 707404M1
Qty.1 - 707402M91

yep, looks like just dumb iron to me. A fab shop or welder could knock those out pretty quick out of plate steel.

Yeah, those can be made out of standard steel plate. Not sure what's going on with the 2 on the left side in the last pic. Note that they have a slight curve to them (for lack of a better term).

Sounds like the consensus is it's time to get 'em fabbed up. We have a local fab shop that can water-jet some pretty thick stuff that will stand up to some abuse. I'll remove them this weekend and see what they can do. Thanks everybody for the input, just wanted to make sure there wasn't some giant Massey bone yard out there waiting to sell me some parts.

As for the bees, I don't know. The tractor is over at a friends parents house. They're just down the road from where I bought it and his dad needs to dig up some cottonwoods before I haul it home.

If you wanted to you get some bushings to fit the pins and have the pieces machined for pressing the bushings in. Then they could be replaceable but that could take years and years to need replacement. An MF30 is good loader. There should be a bucket level indicator on the inside left loader boom. It has a cable from the bucket linkage but the cable could be broken or worn through the boom. The lift valve also has selective self leveling if you pull back even further when lifting the boom. It prevents dumping material on the hood or lack of hood in your case. MF165 hood and parts may fit and were very common. I think aftermarket are available as well. MF30 is basically an MF165 industrial with some heavier duty parts like the front axle. Do you have the AG4-212 gas engine or AD4-203 diesel?

The suitcase weights may be hard on the front end when doing loader work. You may want to put smaller wheels on the front as it looks like they rub on the lift cylinders. There are different holes on the boom that will lift the cylinders up a bit but you'd have to check if the bucket would still work properly when digging. There should a bucket level indicator on the inside left loader arm. The cable may be broke or worn through the boom. Loader also has selective self leveling when you pull the lift lever further back. It prevents dumping material on the hood. MF30 is basically an industrial version of a MF165 with some heavier components like the front axle. Steering can have some issues but look under MF165 steering issues. MF165 hood may fit and are quite common. I think aftermarket are available too. MF30 is a good loader. Do you have the AG4-212 gas engine or AD4-203 diesel? I ran an MF30 loader with the gas engine and manual shuttle trans. Tt was very quiet but a productive loader.

I have to be careful on my AG tractor with a loader for the same reason but an MF30 wouldn't hit the tires with the proper rims and tires. The MF30 I ran had 11L-15 front tires that were fairly wide and 19.5L-24 rears. It was on a golf course.
