What's your hoe doing?

My hoe helped the neighbor widen his driveway and make a big ol' mess (we both got stuck in what turned out to be pretty soft ground where the dumping pile was). He paid me with one of a bunch of real beefy concrete parking blocks that should be beautiful to drag grade with. My removal of material ended up being pretty bumpy (but much better than his skid steer) but he ended up chaining up a parking block and dragged it back and forth a bunch and it worked really well. I'm excited to do the same in my yard where I've rutted it all up.

This morning I buried my neighbor's dog. Irish Wolf Hound?? Huge dog shaped like a Great Dane, but with the scraggly stiff grey hair. Healthy last night, dead this morning.

Bloat. Large dogs have a high risk of it and they can die quickly from it. Their stomache fills with gas and causes it to roll and pinch off the openings, then they can't burp the gas out.

I lost my Bernese Mountain dog 4 years ago to bloat. Her spleen twisted with her stomache and she passed away very quickly, right as I got her on the Vets table.

I hope she didn't suffer. I'm an absolute crybaby when it comes to animal suffering. I can easily do disposal of someone else's pet. It's too late to prevent suffering.
The preamble to digging a grave is tough! Can't stand animal suffering.

God bless a backhoe...

We've lived in this house for right around 4 years now and the bushes below have been annoying just as long. I don't know why we've ignored them for so long but a few days ago the wife and I discussed their removal. Yesterday was the day. With a job that, by hand, would've likely taken hours, I yanked these bushes out and deposited them in the burn pile in about 10 minutes. The opened up view of the pond is lovely and it makes the front of the house look nicer and the porch bigger (I think). We'll likely toss some boxwoods or something in their place and not let them grow so big.hf1.jpg hf2.jpg hf3.jpg

580 Super Series 2 is receiving new pins/bushings for the hoe. swing cylinder reseal. New front tires, and if money allows new rear tires. I was an automotive technician for 10 years, it has been fun to work on it, and learned new things... My body isn't use to so much manual labor LOL

fortunately we don't use it in the winter, gives us plenty of time to go through it. Got it last year, and really just want to know everything is good to go.

I'll be hauling it back to our property once it warms up and drys up a bit.

I love a back hoe however my wife used a 6.0 F250 for about 20 bushes similar to that. I was napping in my recliner. When I walked out there was a pile of bushes in the front yard. She and my son tried out the front tow hooks and 4WD. Then I got the Honey: Can you haul all of those off?

When I lived in my old house, in a fairly dense urban neighborhood, I was just sitting around when suddenly I heard the most terrible noise... I ran outside and looked around the corner and watch the 2 door down neighbor just white smoking his tires, attempting to pull his bushes out, the same way. I assume he did not have 4 wheel drive and it was a lot of back it up and give it a running start. He eventually did get them, but probably woke the entire neighborhood while he was at it. The backhoe made it a very smooth operation.

Good morning, day late dollar short. Here it is when I did the cylinder reseal. We also put new hoe bushings/pins in but I don't have any pictures of that. I should find some pictures from the summer.
