Your hoe arm looks new man..

All original as best I know. My grandpa bought it used about 20 years ago and overhauled the engine. I bought it from him almost 6 years ago. We've replaced one hydraulic cylinder, and repacked a couple others. Also put in a new main hydraulic pump.

Well, my neighbor (who I dug the trash hole for, for those following along) stopped me this past saturday as I was pulling out of the driveway (that he was blocking!) and told me about a lady friend of his who had a horse get into some rat poison. He asked if my tractor was running and if I wanted to bury a horse. I didn't really but I did it. I ended up heading to her house a couple miles away later that afternoon. She turned out to be a very sweet 70 year old Australian lady (unexpected on the west side of Dayton, Ohio) with probably 50 different animals on her 8 acres, from sheep, to goats, to horses, to emu. The horse, a pony really, had died in a stall in a small fenced in area, so I pulled it out with my hoe and a strap, then dragged it over to where she wanted it buried. Spent probably an hour and a half digging a hole, then not-very-gracefully moving a horse into it...

Interesting experience, but not as nightmarish as I kind of expected.
Also, not that I ever want any, but little sheep are very cute and it was interesting to see all the animals come check out their fallen buddy.

Also, if you are following along, I mentioned, a while ago, a bridge to my back field. I ventured over the bridge and everything went fine. It has since had a bit of collapse and I probably won't try again until I dig the whole thing up and put some legit (read: expensive) drain pipe in. I'll likely end up widening the whole bridge considerably and allowing more water flow. I may ask for some construction advice at some point.

I can only imagine. I remember as a kid, my granddad would call the glue factory (not sure if that's what it really was), but they would take away dead animals. I remember standing their watching this guy wrap a cable around this cows leg that had been dead for days. He started winching this cow up the ramp into the truck when the leg snapped off. It wasn't as traumatizing as I would think, but I still remember that incident to this day. The things you experience on a farm.

I can't imagine that

Here's my new to me 310SE I just bought couple of weeks ago. It made the 8 mile drive home. I'm now changing out all the fluids. Had to get a new rod made for the stabilizer as it was bent. Repacked the cylinder. Fixing a few things on it, but have several projects to do with it this summer.

This was the day I brought it home. Dad followed me and I snapped a couple of pictures back at my place of us toying around with it.

Honcho, that's bonkers! I don't think I would have said yes to that kind of favor... I was nervous enough for the horse.

boone, I was genuinely worried that I'd rip a hoof off, gladly I think the horse had dies within a day or so, so it was still in pretty good shape, ya know, for being dead. Also, your new ride is perty! Good job!

You know one well served client gives you two more. That was the reason I took the job. And they didn t say what was that they call me for. They expalened it to me when I was already there. There were folks that were looking for there reletive that got lost. And without backhoe help it would take them a day work. And no one was sure that it is right burrial, they messed with numbers .

I know what you mean. Seems it would be harder if the owner is around and attached the animal. Good job getting the job done.

It's probably not as stout as your Cat, but it's plenty strong. It's got a 36" bucket on it and has no problem getting a bite...of course the easy with wet ground around here as much rain as we've been having. Funny you mention tires. My fronts are at the tire shop now and I may be replacing the rears as one has a slow leak.

Slow leak is nothing serious.Use tire puncture repair kit. I have had so big damages that I had to put in 3 or 4 pieces at once, to stop it. It is only dangerous if you move fast on a road,

Renter has had a couple cows die this winter, still not certain as to the why but vet has tissue samples. Anyway they use the old fashioned method the move them, Bale Spear on loader. Not pretty but effective as well good coyote bait.

Bale spear!!! we usually put a sling or two around legs or somewhere it won't slip off... Always tell the owner 'You do NOT want to see this... it ain't pretty... it's just the way it is.' I've been around enough animal owners when the vet comes in to do his thing... and messes it up and then you get to see the owner burst into tears and start wailing.... it is always best if you just tell them to go in the house and don't watch!

I had a date with an old hoe today. I have been asking for a long time but she has been milking me. Need some batteries. The rack was stuck shut off. Need some packing. Need a hose. Need some packing five different times. Need a hose. Will not eat that fuel anymore. All the important parts are still tight.
Said she needs some new shoes and a seat. Then we can go dancing again.
