I just bought a ford 3000 backhoe in really good shape for year, I'm guessing around 1970 model. I used the hoe first time yesterday I dug a big whole to bury a burn pile of garbage. it digs strong like you would expect. but I tried to use the hoe to push myself forward. as I dug like iv did on every hoe iv ran. but to my surprise it doesn't have the strength to push the tractor. but can pull itself with ease. I thought well not end of world at least I can use it as is. as it will boom straight out with a bucket of dirt. but later in the day I got off near creak and got lightly stuck. should have been able to push it out with ease, but nope wouldn't push its self with hoe at all. after trying like hell I had wiggle around enough the front wheels sunk down in the ground. so I grabbed some blocks to use the front loader to pick the front up to put ramps under front tires for I could just pull it out. this is were it gets puzzling the loader wouldn't left the front end, so I decided to try and extend the hoe straight out with out riggers up. to hopefully raise the front end up, will that wasn't enough weight but what I discovered was with the back hoe straight out, the front loader was strong and could throw its self upward with ease, with boom hoe in the up position. the front loader will still raise its self up and down but no strength to pick up front of tractor, I extended the hoe back out straight except this time I picked up the rear with it for all weight would be on front. still the loader lifts the front with ease like it should. its full of fluid checked and have tried to get more in it. the pump is mounted on front of tractor the feed runs back to the spool valves on hoe. then the return on that spool runs forward and feeds the loader control spool valve. then the fluid goes threw it and returns to tanks. any ideal on what could possible be going on for the life of me I can't understand, how the hoe being extended fixes the loader issue. as after you get done extending the hoe out, the spool valves are returned to the same position as if the boom was up. also sometime the rear boom will have some pushing strength but most the time not. I'm guessing this would be a open loop system, so it would seem with the return feeding loader. that there would have to be a restriction happening at the spool valve on hoe to be effecting the loader. but I can't figure out how the hoe position could be having a effect on flow to the loader as there is no hoses getting pinched off. any ideals? all hoses on machine are new and the rear spool valve is rebuilt and pump is new, all did by the guy I bought from. I can't help but think he was trying to correct this issue and gave up. any ideals would be great.
