Yair . . . .

Okay this is off topic for this thread but I can't find the "site update/bitch about it" thread.

One thing with this new format is particularly annoying is . . . . Twice now I have opened the site and when I open "new posts" it tells me lantraxco has replied to this thread, come here, no post from lantraxco refresh, no post from lantraxco wander away and come back later Moonlite's thread is still the last post showing.

It happens fairly often that the 'new posts' page tells me there are fresh posts on a thread but when I go there nada . . . bloody annoying but no biggie I suppose, the posts eventually show up.

Am I alone with this issue?

Cheers.

Okay its probably me. I posted the #21 comment above and posts came through from Queenslander and lantraxco but one of my posts had disappeared . . . and then I saw a notation between posts that there were more posts to view, clicked it and my post reappeared !!!

WTF there has to be a reason but I just don't understand . . . all is well. (grins)

I think the difference is between "new posts" and "recent posts" (above the grey boxes on the right on the home page or new posts page). The new posts are posts you haven't seen, if you've replied it's obviously not new. Maybe if you've been notified of a new post while you're on the thread, then it's not considered "new" either. Recent posts brings up posts newest (timewise) posts regardless of whether you've seen them. That's my story.

End of the road for the little baby Metters mill.
The old steel casing in the bore was rusted out so we drilled a new hole a few feet away and used PVC casing.
1200 imp. gal/hr at only 30ft.. easily the shallowest bore we have.
Solar pumps are much cheaper now than they were, say, ten years ago so we decided to put one down the new hole and boot the water up a hill.

Any chance of shipping that old one to me, always like the looks of those old windmills. Should not cost too much!
There's one still standing just off the road about ten miles from here. I can remember seeing it back when I was just a kid.

The better half wanted it for yard art, but I refused...had enough of fixing the darned things over the years.
She was bemoaning her plight to friends on fb and they all said that they would love to have it.
I said if anyone could talk their husband into putting it up I would deliver it for free.
....haven’t had any replies yet!

They certainly are in an application like you have there... looks like you are lifting from a dam into a turkey’s nest with a siphon pump.
It’s when there are many lengths of pipe down a bore or a large head to be lifted that maintenance costs increase.
Whereabouts are you ajginger and do you have any other mills?
