Since the 580C died after the extendahoe rebuild, I grabbed the 580E to move some gravel. It was going fine, but then suddenly I have no drive in either forward or reverse in any gear. I was just attempting to back up a pile of rock on flat ground at an idle when it happened. It's like it's just stuck in neutral.
I checked the tranny fluid and it looks to be okay (well, the hoe wasn't running when I did this, so I should probably re-check), so I'm wondering if the shuttle is a different oil reservoir and it that's a place to look? I didn't really see any dipstick/filler that was obvious. I only have a book for the 580C.
The weird thing is that the shuttle lever really isn't centered in the notch, so you sorta had neutral below the notch and forward drive really in the notch. I'm wondering if the linkage just broke or something? The thing is it still feels like it's acting normally, like there's the normal resistance when trying to move it into forward or reverse. Where should I be looking next?
I think it's low on hydraulic fluid due to more leaking cylinders, but I can't see how that's related, are they somehow connected? On my 1150H, when the tranny is low is does stuff like this.
