Nice looking unit. Does that right side panel use hydraulics to open up to the workings?

Yes, there is a switch behind the corner guard to power the side door/fueling platform down.

Great looking new machine, someone is going to be spoiled getting to operate that baby. Hope it lasts you a long time, and that the logging industry makes a turn around to where it should be.

Are there any other specification differences between the Hitachi and John Deere log loaders apart from the make of engine and the colour of the paint?

Zero . They are built in the same factory even. Well, the screen says either Deere or Hitachi but that's it.

Somewhere around there. 20k hrs. Customer just bought it in November and the hydraulics get weaker as it warms up and tracks off to the left something awful. Pressures were all checked by Deere a month ago.

I’d never thought about the swivel. I was leaning towards the pumps because of the tracking issue and even when the hydraulics are cold it doesn’t have power enough to pick up the machine by pulling the boom in and putting the head on the ground.

Some old equipment from years past that a friend of mine owns. He and his dad ran a logging company for years, when logging went down hill around here most of the stuff and
the mill went quiet.

Got to test ride this sweet machine last week. 959 ml with a 60" t-mar grapple. Real niceView attachment 223848
Pape' has been pushing for us to try one. I just do not think they can beat the Tigercat for agility and longevity. Here is my 900 hour Hitachi 310 thanks to **** poor factory machining specs. The stick boom cylinder rod eye pin seized up in the bore and sheared off the retainer Bolt causing the pain to come flying out when he swung to grab another turn of logs on a steep sidehill. Stick boom came slamming down on top of the cylinder bending the rod and damaging the stick boom. They tried to say it was from lack of Grease but when we recovered the pin out of the brush it's still had a layer of grease on it. They were not going to warranty the $22,000 cylinder or $40,000 stick boom until I told them I would drop both of the new shovel off in the middle of the street in front of their Branch if they did not. In other photos you could see the galling on the sides of the pin boss and Rod eye for the cylinder. We have a cat 568 with 11000 hours that is tighter than both of those brand new John Deere and hitachi machines we have. We will not be purchasing any more. Screenshot_20200903-123402.png
