Guys, im in a bit of a situation here. I have rubber solid tires and a set of grouser bar tracks. I know these arent recommended for solid tires but this is for one project and i dont have the funds to change anything in setup. So here is what happened, i tried some other tracks, a lighter type that gets to be tightened a lot which did not slip on tires. The grousers with 2 or 3 inches of play slip. In manual they say the track bars should go into grooves on tire so they dont slip but not tire ive seen has grooves perpendicular to tire they are angled. The other thing is this seems to be worse in winter. Are OTT tracks not supposed to be used in snow and ice? I guess for this project (just moving a lot of fill dirt on soft ground, unless its frozen) my choices are tighten the tracks more or try to cut perpendicular grooves in tires? Pros and cons of each and any other options? Dont use them in winter? Seems like i would have to cut tires in a lot of places for each bar.
Thanks in advance
