Ok I got a Mack dump truck with ai-475 engine from another company to work on yes we are slack at work and taking in equipment to work on .. and was told the first eup pump broke in 3 pieces ..
New pump installed and fuel line by another tech and now its a misfire on number one cylinder the one eup pump was replaced on .
My question is what would break the pump in 3 pieces ?
Can the pulse currant on eup pump be check with noid light ?
What else to check ?

Thanks Allen

They just get old, after 15k hours they tend bite the dust from age and heat prematurely kills them, is the heat shields in place, cause usually it's number 5 or 6 that goes due to exhaust pipe going right by them and number or 3 on the AC motors due to EGR cooler. Check the bores check the cam to make sure no scoring, or pieces of any springs in there. Noid light will work, have you erased the codes and tried again and have you bled the lines fully, it takes a lot to get the air out.

Early ones had soft cams. The ramps would deteriorate. Must have been same supplier as Volvo. They were all crapping the bed around the same time.

Total of 4 hours in it ..Its no codes , tested to see if it had power all pumps are pumping , started checking overhead I see problem with number 5 and its not valve adjustment that aint right ...the exhaust rocker moves up and down rocker shaft 1/2 inch ...I look under shaft and its a clip and thin washer laying on top of head ...take rocker assembly off and shaft is broken ..it broke at between 4 mack engine brake and 5 clip is right at 5
looking at everything I see one bolt had red lock tite on it wipe oil off head and it was loose at some time and probly cracked shaft and they used lock tite and locked it back down that's number 4 cylinder
So im thinking rocker shaft hold down at number 4 loosen up and started a miss or problem then they saw it lock tite and tighten back down but shaft had cracked and after time it broke

Is this engine equipped with the mack powerleash set up ? Rocker shaft itself has the jake solenoid on it if it is , just a friendly note it is a pain in the rear running overhead on those instructions are a few pages long.
