Hi All,

Why when I use Cylinder Cutout Test at the same time of the same injector Getting open circuit,But If I go to Use the "Injector Solenoid Test" to diagnose an open circuit or a short circuit Nothing Happened every things is normal?
I tried to clean the connector and the the wire loss on harness injector, all are good
does any one got same problem and solve it before?

Thanks All

I'd usually confirm with a multimeter in line to make sure everything is working as it should. Not the first time for me the program glitched or the ECU wasn't measuring properly.

I'm not sure why this may be happening but you can easily tell if it's a wiring fault or an injector fault by exchanging it with an injector from another cylinder.

Thanks guys,
Before we start troubleshooting this problem ,The Generator fluctuating at coold weather ..... With 40% of load

The ET working good I tested It with different Generator same series... I Asked to change the inside harness for each
6 cylinders are the problem but 3 & 8 are good no active alarem.

The difference between the Injector Solenoid "Click Test" and the Cylinder Cutout Test is that the first one only provides a minimum test current that is just sufficient to make the solenoid "click", the second is the engine working under loaded conditions. There is a major factor of magnitude of difference in the amount of current between the two tests. TBH I would never depend on the results of Injector Solenoid Test to determine if an injector (or its wiring harness) was "good" or "bad".

Are you doing a single cylinder Cut-out Test or a Multiple Cylinder..? The REAL test of 3500 electronic injectors is a Multiple Cylinder Cutout Test. For a 3508 IIRC it cuts out 5 cylinders at a time and tests the other 3. WARNING: The engine will sound like a bag of bolts is rattling around inside it when doing this test.
When I think about it I'm not sure if the 3500B-series of engines are even equipped for multiple cylinder cutout tests, or maybe to cutout multiple cylinders it has to be done manually. Even if that was the case you can cut at least 4 cylinders at a time and test the other four. The engine will still run.

I know on 3500C-Series and later models you could select the Multiple Cylinder Cutout Test straight from the ET screen.
Post an engine Serial Number so we know what we're looking at.

Do you mean the engine isn't able to hold the load (running rough, underpowered), or is the machine "hunting" (fluctuating rpm/frequency) at 40% load?

Thanks
Engine SN: 1FZ03430

I never tried to use Multiple Cylinder Cutout test one of my friend got broken in one cylinder and valve with rocker ,only I use single

Yes, it can hold the load But at cold weather suddenly start fluctuating rpm/frequency and C/B cut the power to the load.

Do you think guys the Exhaust Temp sensors has relation with this problem
L/R missing from bginning.

Cutting one cylinder on an 8-cylinder engine is often not enough for a sure-fire diagnosis. That's why the multiple cylinder cutout test was developed.

A comment regarding your ET screen above. In order to run cylinder cutout test you need the coolant temperature much higher than it was in that screen shot in my opinion. Probably around 170F at least and preferably higher.

Personally I would diagnose and fix the fuel pressure and exhaust temperature sensor issues before proceeding further. It's not a good idea trying to run tests on an engine that has Active Diagnostic Codes. The diagnostics for all three Codes are the same. Test Procedure attached.

Thanks for reply

The problem for 6 injectors I took just picture to show you guys the problem how it Active or come ?
I agree with you Niga about the temp exahust sensor that could be doing fluctuating in cold weather, but not with injectors Open circuit.

The exhaust temperature sensors missing when they bought the genset and they plug the holes by two bolts ,It's Used generator
If we Fix the sensors problem do you think injectors problem will solve?

If I go to Cut out test with using Multiple Clyinder the engine will getting harmful @rpm 1500 ?

Thanks

I would not even try to test that engine until the Diagnostic codes for the Exhaust temperature sensors and the fuel pressure sensor were no longer there.

My diagnostic procedure would involve: -
1. Install exhaust temperature sensors. Fix any faults resulting from the installation.
2. Fix fuel pressure sensor fault.
3. Run a multi-Cylinder Cutout test again. If you read right at the end of the attached document there is a comment regarding how to run the test on fixed-speed generator set engines.
