Hi guys,

Im new to the forum but i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

We have an old Kubota KH60 which was working fine until all of a sudden the right track started going allot slower than the left.

We had someone come out and said the pump was browken, as other functions started moving slowly aswell. Such as the ram etc..

The pump has been replaced and everything else is working as it should but the right track is still moving slowly.

Im not an expert on these thinga but hoped someone could point me in the right direction, or easy things to check.

Thanks

Chris

P.s the track did start moving fine for about 10 secs after putting the new pump on.

Welcome to the forum. When pump was changed, was there metal or brass in the oil? Was the hyd system flushed prior to reinstalling the new pump? Does track work if doing multiple functions at the same time? Have you tested pressure reliefs for track motors? There been other posts on the forum recently about general troubleshooting of similar issue, you may want to chk out if you haven’t already.

Hi!
We flushed the old oil and put new hyd oil in.
Didnt check for metals in the oil... could this cause a build up and possibly a blockage??

To be ohnist im not to sure where the preseure relief are located or what it may look like, can you advise as i did see someone mentioned to check them.

Chris,
I am not familiar with a KH60, so sorry I can’t be very specific. Just the general troubleshooting steps.

When the pump went bad it could have easily put metal debris in the system and if there is any of it getting into the drive motors it will be very bad :( there is also a chance that some debris is lodged in the rotary joint restricting flow.

The only good way to check for that would be disconnect the lines to the drive motor and do flow tests, without a book you could test each side(motor) and compare the results... after that you would need to do some pressure checks at the drive motors. You can get cheap pressure testing kits on ebay in the 100$ range but for flow meters a stopwatch and a clean 5 gallon bucket will suffice.

Hi! Thanks for the reply!

We checked what we could today and couldnt see any obvious signs of contamination.

We decided to dig out a small hole to make sire everything else was working ( the track was slow, but we got there ) upon digging i noticed we were losing power to certain functions again. Bucket in and out mainly.

We then noticed a big loss of power. ( it can still lift itself, but doesnt feel as powerful )

As the pump is only 2 days old i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what to check. I am now wondering if the old pump was ok in the first place.

Thanks!

P.s i have ordered a pressure testing kit, but it will be a couple of days.

When pumps go bad if(and they usually do) they put garbage into the hydro system you *must* get it *all* cleaned out especially from any lines that could possibly feed direct to the pumps again without going through a filter!!! Because it doesn't take but a few little flakes of metal to ruin your whole day(and the machine)if it gets into the valving or anywhere for that matter....

Hi Guys

I thought i would give you an update. We decided to change the hydralic oil, suction filter and return filter, fill it back up with brand new oil.
we started it up and left it for 5 minutes with no pressure and hey presto! everything seems to be working fine and feels allot more powerful than before.

My last question is. do i need to do this all over again? i read online that sometimes its best to drain the oil again and change the filters again....

Thanks

Hi! Yeah the suction filter was covered in fine metals. And looked like it had never been changed
