The Maxxd trailer is around $5k more affordable but is 32' (30' usable) while the great northern is 36' (35 usable). 30' is the bare minimum for what I need .

Be careful of your needs vs wants. Friend bought a great long trailer. Had lots of space... unfortunately, it was a hard or impossible to get into some places. Eventually sold it to get a shorter trailer. Consider your travel area.

Yes always good advise , we haul our own equipment to our own ranches and rarely anywhere else. I do like the honda power for the hydraulics but wish the trailer was a bit longer :( My harvester will get onto a 30' trailer but will hang out 5' past the tires in the rear. We have done it but I am not thrilled.

IS $5,000 enough money for a custom extended trailer? I still like the Honda hydraulics. Batteries are one of the banes of farm maintenance. I have an electric start Honda powered log splitter. Never installed the battery. Prefer to pull the rope instead of one more battery. I do always shut off gas, run carb dry for shut-down.

Is annual Harvest the only time the trailer used ? Gasoline engine once drained of gas, sleeps well vs a battery that needs periodic attention.

If buying new you will be getting a major upgrade if you can get 17.5 or even 19.5 tires on it. The flats so common with the 16s will go away and your wear will be cut in half. Both the 17.5 and the 19.5 use more air pressure and behave like semi tires.

It is looking like the Slide X will be the one. We use these all year, but the difficult equipment is harvest only. We have no choice but to use 16" rubber but will be 14 pr load range G. Turns out that there is a $10,000 difference in purchase price, hope quality doesnt suffer. I will let you know

This is a TRUE love story, she is hot powder coated beauty, and I can really get her motor running. I think she will do anything that I ask and just roll with it. As long as I don't overload her chassis she is willing. By using a little oil she will lay down any time I ask . I can go on for miles about her but I think you see why ...its love

If you're still looking take a look at Kaufman Trailers

I've bought several trailers from them, they've always been the least expensive and they will customize to your specs if you wish. You can choose all LED lighting with a sealed wire harness that virtually eliminates lighting problems unless they are physically damaged. They're tough to beat
