They tried to set these deck posts with a telehandler, when the first one fell off the deck, they called me. You can see it laying on the ground, down and to the left in the first picture, its a wonder someone didn't get smacked with it. All's well that ends well though, we got them set.

Tank must have been a Inside Measure!! Big floats pin together? to make a larger surface? Old barge going to be dragged out and cut up I presume.

Have to say you do end up with some of the strangest lifts!! Also guessing that all the culls from baking become house eats!

I don't know what happened with the water tank. The big floats were a little different, the sides of the float weren't male/female like a flexifloat. They had double female fittings, so all the float sides were the same. Then a double barrel/ pin that would lock them together. The individuals were like 10x20's, they put 4 together to make a 20' x 40' work barge.

Old barge was purchased by a boat dock builder, he's going to use it as his work barge.

And I will admit to taste testing a few of the culls.

You could add a carry deck to the fleet when you hit that 500lbs to lift you out of the pickup, carry you across the job site, and set you in the crane cab.

you could smoke their shorts a bit by repowering it with something like this :)

Here's that 6v92 in a Krupp. The engine sits in a aluminum doghouse about 5" off your right elbow. Right on the other side of those gauges. They've got a nice 2x4 and plywood cover for it, I'm sure that toned down the noise level in the cab. Probably from 151 Db to 146 Db.

That one is a tad rough!!

Didn't just look rough, it had a rough life too: "The unit sustained damage on 01/30/2019. It has been reported that while being driven to a job site, the crane failed to make it across the peak of a levy and rolled back down the hill resulting in the operator losing control and the crane exiting through a side barrier, off a bridge, and into the bank of the canal."

I think if I had to drive it with that 6v92 in my lap, driving it in the canal might not seem like such a bad idea.

Any word from the engine builder as to an inspection of internals?
Unfortunately no. I stopped by their shop today, to get injection pump and injector numbers and checking progress. When I drove up, it was on their back pad by the pressure washer. It had a bath. And that's it.

When I brought it last week, they said they were going to start on it monday, and I thought that sounded optimistic. When I went inside, they said they were starting on it in a hour. Never mind monday, tuesday, and wednesday, and most of thursday.

If they had told me upfront they wouldn't start until today (thursday), I can understand that. Don't tell me monday and not start on it until friday. My first thought was to tell them to just set it on my truck bed, and I'd deal with it myself. Temper, temper.

I told them to just uncover the bottom end, get a idea of the damage, and then we can make a decision. Its just the fact that I wasted a week, that parts could have been on their way. It's good for my patience building.

I agree to be upfront with the customer. If they can't get to it in a few days or even a week be honest with the customer. If they haven't worked on something similar before also inform the customer. I got flack because I questioned why I being charged $160 for a 10 minute job. On top I had pay upfront while they had my parts. 24 hours later it hadn't even moved from their counter. I had no problem if the shop had a 1 hour minimum charge or couldn't get to it right away but I had to pay upfront so I think it should have been ready when I went back the next day. I would have been fine if they would have just told me there's a 1 hour minimum instead making it seem like some big complicated job. By the time we take it to the back and then set it up the press, blah, blah. It's not like it was shop that would take 1/2 an hour to walk to the back.

Changed out a downspout at a feed mill Sunday. It was a misty/rain all day, right at the freezing point. The whole time I was thinking its going to freeze and be all black ice, and I'm a hour and a half from home on a weekend. But it stayed 2 degrees warm enough, I made it home fine. Monday we didn't go to any of our jobs, right at the icing temp with steady rain/sleet.
