what are yall doing with any scrape metal because right now ive bought a dumpster and just stuffing full because the price for it is to low
lovely well putting the new purchase to use thoughPretty much unless is in the way it sits here.
i have two local yards within 30 miles of me its not great for choiceYep just about when I start scrapping my hoard all the local yards close down.
Cut offs and junk just go in the trash can now.
well I bought a roll off and 3 dumpsters right now and so far I also bought a small wood chipper and I been using these instead of the dump truck I been turning the wood into chips for landscape companies then the metal well its gonna sit at the yardI don't care what the price is, once every year or two I try to load up all the junk that accumulates around my yard and take it in. If the $ covers the fuel and the time, I've got a cleaned up yard.
I have a guy that works for me, and he scraps HVAC units on the side, he will cut all the coils out, and its a good little side work on the weekends for him, but I couldn't pay him to do it and make $.
well like I said good excuse for the roll off I just boughtThink of it as investment if you got the tools to move it around and process it as such, hoard bunch up wait for market to go up and cash in. It's a good savings account cause you can't easily cash it in and it isn't worth taking in most time.
my local places wont even accept batteries I have to drive an hour away if I wanna sell those even then they only give like 10 dollarsI hate scrap. It makes a mess of my yard. But I can't stand to just throw it away. I cashed in a bunch of truck batteries the other day and the guy only gave me 6 dollars each. Interstate gave me 17 for a core.
well for me it wasn't just the scape it was cleaning up old logging cut up and pulling stumps so I wasn't just there for that but there was a lot of itI got in a deal this week A guy called and said he had some junk and wanted to know if i wanted it i said ok about a ton then he told me it was about 30 miles away. I told him i would think about it. Then later on they hauled it 5 miles from me. I went and got it. I screwed up they had sold some earlyer this year and told me they didnt get gas money from its sale. I thought they just wanted to get rid of it but today he ask what i was going to pay him for it ? After the price got so low i cringe when some one starts talking to me about cleaning up some scrap.
Get about 10k lbs then it will be worth it when the prices are up.I have a couple thousand pounds just sitting in a pile behind the barn. Recently bought a dump trailer, so I can easily haul it in but prices are low. Guess I'll wait.
I don't have that much yet and I hope I don't my yards getting filled fast and im have to buy my neighbor property at this rateI have a couple thousand pounds just sitting in a pile behind the barn. Recently bought a dump trailer, so I can easily haul it in but prices are low. Guess I'll wait.
this is my first election year and I don't look forward to itI got a few hundred thousand pounds setting here in hulks of old equipment and a couple of aluminum school buses that I picked up all for free in the neighborhood plus one burned out slasher. I pick away at them when frustrated, pulling bolts, pins, etc, and dismantling what comes apart. I normally don't gas ax anything unless I am salvaging a piece, it doesn't pay. Historically election year is good for scrap prices. Hope next year will be the same.
