looking at a 850j lgp coming up on a auction. Low hours they claim. Straight blade with risers. Would this be a good farm use dozer or would a guy be better off looking for a standard width machine? Minimal wet/ marshy areas but some pretty steep terrain as well. General dirt hogging and terrace building. Also why does it seem the blades are located farther forward of the front of the machine on a LGP than a standard width machine? Any insight is appreciated.

Most LGPs have a longer track frame LGP not good for slopes also the pins and bushings wear out faster look at how far out the idler is the rail height will look good but the tracks will be stretchered out. I would go with a regular gauge machine
