I think she is still in operation but I am not sure. Pictures were taken just outside of Campbell River.
The owner was going to work her and his hdx this last year but last min teal jones changed there mind and wanted to use high way trucks and haul to the sort in duke point instead of dumping the wood in the Alberni canal. They have been looking at job out of tofino next so it will be put back to work up there hopefully next year

Thank you 49pacific for information - good to hear she will be back in operation. I did not see the owners HDX. Hopefully next time.

My friend Rob found the Ex Fred Sowchuk P 12 Thinking this is the #4 truck from when I was there. I work for Fred for a few years in the 1970's Truck is near Grimshaw Alberta, Berwyn. 95.jpg 96.jpg 97.jpg 98.jpgThis # 4 from the 1980's can not remember the date when I took it. Fred did not believe in air tailgates, his thoughts were that every 1/2 hr or so the drivers could get off there as_ for a check on rear tires etc, as we worked 24 hrs a day.
#4, it was the only P 12 with rubber block rear suspension ,

LOADED by dougsscaletruckreplicas, on Flickr
I remember taking that picture . Master Mechanic at BCFP Renfrew Div. Brian Dickson had been asked by someone for some pictures of a Highway Pacific Logging Truck loaded . As I kept wax on the #6-284 , he asked me take some pictures of it . I was hauling from Ernie Harrison running the #16-15 a 7220 American log loader up Reid Cr. off the Braden Cr. M/L . Some loads were legal highway loads going to Shoal Island DLS , some were off highway loads going to Honeymoon Bay DLS . I told Ernie what I was up to , so he put a load of Hemlock and Balsam on the truck to go to Honeymoon Bay DLS . I don't know how many Cubic Meters were on the load , but I seem to recall it weigh somewhere's around 74,000 - 75,000 K.G. I took the pictures , then gave the pictures and negatives to Brian . Now I see those pictures showing up in other collections . I really don't mind , but I really kick myself in the "Butt" when I see them that didn't get and keep a set for myself !

Hi Al. Need to pick your brain. Is this the oringinal reach on the trailer? Thanks Doug.

Its to bad you didn't get hold of me when you were in Duncan , I could have given you the history of the over sights and modifications made to the trailer and rigging. My spelling is not the greatest and my keyboarding is worst . There were a lot of changes made to the trailer and rigging , by the Renfrew Div. shop . I'll try to bring up some pictures to show you the extra scrap iron that was on the draw bar from Knight Trailers . I guess they thought that we were hauling long logs , as the trailer reach could be extendible , which we never did with it .Scan580.jpg Scan593.jpg Scan580.jpg Scan593.jpg

Went down to Victoria last Saturday , spent a couple of hours with Doug W. he is doing wonderful work on his P510S model . The attention to detail is unbelievable , I am looking forward to the completed model . His other completed models are a sight to behold .
