Thanks for sharing Tugger!

That type of work is so far out of my wheel house - fascinating! I wouldn't know where to start.

Its a ways out of my wheelhouse to, but you figure stuff out. Its been an interesting project. My scope of work has included setting up the crane on a sectional barge , building the crane access pad along the beach of the old shipyard and general yard logistics . It has required the pooled talent of shiprights, welders , electricians ,operators, laborers and project managers all putting our heads together to make this a success.

I had some scrap that needed to be moved out of the road so i loaded it up and hauled it today. I got $ 70.00 a ton. L didnt want to move it then reload it later to haul it off. I would like to haul another load to clean up but i need to hold off for a better price.I was lucky this summer and now have a spare trailer just for scrap that i can load and leave set until the right time.

Starting to get older noticing that vehicles and equipment that I saw come off the showroom floor or off a truck and treated with loving care are still around but are pretty much yesterday's junk and now just waiting for them to die.

You have to wonder why scrap is so low but new steel keeps going up. When tarrifs come on prices on steel and alum jumped and scrap tanked . Tarrifs were taken off ,but prices havent changed . ??

I wish there was a way to tell what the market would do. I used to think that i would run on to some one that could tell me but it seems no one has a clue what it will do.I was hoping it would get above $ 100.00 a ton then i would sell now i hope for a $100.00. One thing that keeps it low is how much i have stock piled.

The site has been a shipyard since 1910 .Industrial sites on the water are getting few and far between. The Canadian goverment has committed serious funding to rid the coast of derelict vessels. Good work for us over the winter even if scrap is low.
