Got the roof top unit bolted down today...It all fit fine but it was a bit of a struggle for Mary and I to find foot room to stand and drop it down on its sealer..
The left rear stud is screwed up and I will fix it tomorrow when all the sealer is dry...More drilling and fitting tomorrow...

Another Grizzly rumor followed up....I heard about some Grizzly sheetmetal awhile(6-8 months) ago but the owner did not get back to me.There is a cab,nose and I believe some fenders.Assumed to be left over parts from when the shop was closed down..
These are the same parts I was told about as the location is the same.
The door hinge pocket puzzles me.The lower rear cut out is correct and I see what appears to be a lap joint on the hood that also puzzles me.Those appear to be doors inside the cab...

Spitzair contacted me yesterday on this forum and sent me the pics.He tells me the owner was just in a very bad accident and is in ICU in bad shape.For that reason I am not going to disclose the location.Parts are still with 100 miles of the lower mainland here.
I wish the owner the best in his recovery...
Hopefully at some point I can go see these parts and verify that they are Grizzly..

So why a roof top unit and a hole in the roof, instead of a smaller under dash unit like the collector car guys use? Or even one of the sleeper type units hid behind the cab? No room in the footwell?

I looked at lots of different styles but nothing jumped out at me..The sleeper unit is interesting but my fuel tank is behind the cab..
I have very little under dash space.Doesnt help that the glove box is welded in.Pass foot box is not that big either.I also have no room left in the nose of the truck.I already moved the rad as close to the fan as possible and stuck a 3" thick intercooler in front of it..No room left for a condenser and I don't know if my rad would be happy with it there..
I looked for 12V self contained units that maybe I could hide under the seat but found nothing...
In the end I picked the roof top.As the roof is 1/8 thick I wasn't worried about cutting it.
What I don't know and there is not much I can do about it is.....How will it look on the truck ??

I figured you had looked at all the options, and I was just curious- not being critical. From the pictures the cab footwell room does look pretty small.

The "how it will look on the truck" is what I was kind of thinking about too. Honestly, most people won't even notice it up there.

I will say that the red dot overheads that I've installed in a couple truck crane lower cabs were great units, very robust and simple to get running. The one I was around the most would freeze you out. At 1/8" cab panels, makes it nice to cut and support something like that, vs a really thin cab. It shouldn't bounce the roof around anyways.

Thanks...I didn't take it as a negative comment...Just curiousity...
My long time friend is a A/C guy and he said the same about the Red Dot stuff..Easy to work on and it will make me cold...
I am probably going to paint the white body work on the unit satin black...

Well as usual more work than anticipated (roof strut) but I have the installation of the unit finished.Just painting the bodywork for it and the top part will be done.Then I have the work to do on the engine for the compressor..

There was nothing wrong with the front seat other than it was blue.Material was purchased a few years ago and I had my guy redo it.Dont remember who picked the material but I know its marine stuff...Looks pretty good.I should have it back in shortly...

Got the seat installed today...Both my Mustangs are black interior so I wanted something different...I finished off the roof top today as well..

So..the roof top part of the install is all done...Don't know if I like the look of it but at the same time I had very few options and am not going to worry about it...I'll put my brain to it later...
You can see I had to slit the panel on the tent to get the truck out...

I have the rear end from my truck in the shop right now getting overhauled (new bearings/seals)

and getting a locker installed in it so I’m at a stand still with the power train until I get it back so I took the seats out and removed the old carpet. The floor was sprayed with some sort of rubberized coating so it’s hard to tell the true condition of the steel floor underneath. I’m not sure yet if it’s going to be worth the effort to peel the rubber off or not.

Will....my floors were covered with a sheet of kind of tar like paper a 1/4 of a inch thick..Scrapeing it off just left a mess of tar..I only cut out what I needed..Now.....if your floor is sprayed with the same stuff my box is then I can help (not really) The box was blistered and rust had pushed some of it off.Nothing I tried would release it.I tried thinners,adhesive removers and heat...It would not come off...

Your floors look better than I expected considering how long that truck sat outside...

It sounds like the stuff on my floors is just like what you have in your box. Anywhere the water got underneath it, it’s bubbled up and comes off quite easy but the rest of it is pretty solid. The floors actually look really good on the bottom side where I’ve wire wheeled and painted already so I think I’m going to only address the areas that I need to and leave the rest alone.

Yep...sounds like the same stuff.The floor is very flat and thick.Reparing it shouldn't be a problem.

I got the rearend back from overhaul and got it installed today along with the new shocks and spring straps. As long as the weather holds I’m hoping to get a new brake line run back along the frame and get the new park brake cables installed before winter shuts me down.
