Gradall 534C-6

Buying a Gradall 534C-6 that needs the boom retraction cable replaced. Hasn't run in awhile i'm told it does but i haven't heard it personally. They lost the keys so i short circuited the key switch quickly and it does turn. Machine has 8600 hours showing. Tires all had decent tread and it looked to be in decent shape. zero pictures because i'm a putz and i wasn't really planning on buying it i was there buying something else. Thoughts on a price for this machine and what I'm in for replacing that retraction cable? Thanks in advance.

Don’t know the price for that repair but that’s a lot of hours on a shooter boom machine

A lot of unknowns so it’s a gamble . You weren’t looking for a forklift anyway so lowball the price ,if it’s junk you can scrap it ,if not you got a deal. If they say no to the price you weren’t looking for a forklift anyway .

That’s a great way to go about it. It’s hard for me to do that. I get it in my mind I want it and next thing ya know lol

I have a 1998 543D-6 that we bought new. Ol' Blue has been a great machine and is still used on our yard - actually handier than a shirt pocket for all sorts tasks.

The key switch has been replaced several times, just a simple NAPA ignition switch. The little Cummins still fires up.

If that machine is in decent shape and it's not to bad to replace the cable buy it. What's the price?

Not a bad price depending on the rest of the machine. Any pics of the machine?

Nah i wasn't there for that machine at the time. Wish i took them.
