Advice on Equipment Rental

Hi all,

I've been talking to a few of my local ER companies (including UR). Has anyone else noticed that they keep pushing using their online portal or mobile applications to order/manage equipment?

Never had to do this before, and not sure what the catch is? Is it more expensive? Is it less reliable? Will I still have to call them up afterwards to discuss specifics/deals?

Advice and feedback on others who have used it would be appreciated.

Most all of them are going to those portals. It saves them a lot of time and is more convenient to the customers that don't want to deal with pushy sales people.

Nah, I just repair the equipment and have done some for rental companies in the past.

Cloud applications allow the companies to run with fewer people and monitor their iron from a desk in an office. Beat up the equipment or don't maintain it and they can see it. Double shift it or move it somewhere else and they can track it. Tamper with it and it can be seen. Big brother is watching and having seen how iron is abused in the rental markets, the customers have no one to blame for it except themselves.
