I picked up a ryobi 1/2 inch and the new lithium batteries, we had a set of ryobi tools and the 1/2 inch impact works great on all the lug nut and wheel change jobs as well as other stuff, shocks and suspension stuff within reason. Super happy with it even having the air impact on hand the electric is just as quick.

Ok i made my decision. I went Dewalt for 2 reasons. 1) local napa dealer was having a "trade in" sale that can not be best anywhere 2) 1/2" impact has very impressive specs. What I have learned is xr = brushless and brushless is best. I got mostly 5 amp/hr batteries with these kits and that is the key to battery life. So now I have to set up a charge and store battery shelf in my service truck! Any suggestions on a heavy duty great quality inverter? What features should I look for? I'll add pics as I get this shelf built and I will update on how well the tools work....TIO

I have ir so I don't know about dewalt but if the batteries or charger are cold the will not charge so I just have a charger that plugs into the lighter in the cab of my service truck and charge them there

Stripped something out of my snap-on gun this week. Of course it's out of warranty. Wish I hadn't drank that kool-aid and bought the Milwaukee.

I've got an inverter that looks like a soda can and fits in the cupholder. It works but is terribly slow and I'm convinced it doesn't give as good a charge as a regular 110 outlet.

I ended up getting the IR IQ V20 series like others have. Haven't put it to the test but it made short work of rotating the boss's tires.

For my 2 cents..............Milwaukee Fuel 1/2 gun is AWESOME!!
More power than you'll likely ever need, I tried it for fun on some 7/8" bolts (thread size, 1 5/16" wrench size) on a D10 track frame and it backed out a few! Amazing. The only complaint I have with it is the direction switch is in an awkward spot and locks the trigger if you move it slightly which happens quite often.
Also have a Milwaukee 3/8" impact and can't believe the power it has for a small gun.
I'll be buying more Fuel tools and only wish these were around 20 years ago when I was in field service.

Verynice. I think the Dewalt has the nicest ergonomics. The power nowadays is a wash. IR was the first one with a real air tool equivalent, but now pick your color LOL

Well, the IR took a roller off a 120. That's a good sign.

Just had to swap steers around on the ford to the kenworth. One of the guys had his makita out but it just wasn't cutting it... it would get a couple but you had to sit on it for 30 seconds or so before it would get the first turn on the nut. So I grabbed my milwaukee and a 9 amp batt and had ten nuts off the F8000 before he got the second one on the kenworth.

Got all done and still had three full bars on the battery :)

I do plan on getting one of the bigger milwaukee fuel guns but haven't ordered one yet.... soon though ;)

I have the Mil. rated for 1200 lbs torque.
So far fits biggest challenge was the lug nuts on my F-350, 175lbs.
Dang thing would only get half a rattle and nut was loose.
Might sneak over to my neighbor's skidder, should be a better challenge somewhere on it.
Someone asks why I bought such a brute, simple answer, Because I wanted it!!

I had the snap on 1/2” gun, 1/4” screw gun, flashlight, Lincoln grease gun, etc. had troubles with each of them. Traded the whole pile in on Milwaukee fuel and never looked back. It’s all been great. Only mistake I made was buying some extra knock off batteries from eBay. They will charge in the Milwaukee charger if I put them in just right but don’t last very long so I try to just use them in the flashlight.

Yeah, the knockoff batts are worthless, not only do they not last as long but you can't get as much power out of them on any tool that needs more amps... but I guess a flashlight would be ok.

Mid torque M18 does almost everything I ask of it since I had it fixed under warranty. It was bad out of the box and gutless for the first two years I had it, so it lived in the toolbox while I always used the big 1/2 Fuel. Now that it's working right the big one lives in my pickup and the IR air almost never comes out.

Only use I've found for the knockoff batteries is the body. Broken the tabs that hold the body together off most of my M12 batteries, melted them together with a soldering iron but eventually they break again. Moved the guts into a knockoff case and works great. Knockoff batteries went into the HF Braun light and work like **** (just like the dead HF battery).
