Setting some more wall panels, this is the top parapet wall. And the mudhole keeps getting worse, I guess its where the grease trap for the kitchen is going, so they don't want to put a bunch of rock into it, and then have to dig it back out. It doesn't have a name, but when talking about the jobsite, you can just say "its over by the mudhole" and everyone knows where you're talking about.

Got a little stormy on us at the end of the one day. We had just moved the crane when it hit, I didn't have it on jacks yet, and when the wind hit, I saw a pallet go tumbling by, and the whole crane was kind of rocking in the wind. I took the rainy pic after it let up. It really came down sideways for a little while, glad I didn't have boom in the air.

Had to have a little help. Couldn't quite get over the building to set a couple panels, and it was either the Mack from the neighbor's parking lot, or the 100 ton from the mudhole. I knew the mudhole wasn't happening, and they wanted the panels set.

Took the Mack out monday morning for some trusses. Still haven't got my old 25 up and running well, I think the aneroid/ diaphragm in the fuel pump is bad, so I'm stuck taking the mack if its a job out of town.

Had a job this week at a hospital setting some generators. I went and looked and it was kind of a crooked spot, with a bunch of left over dirt from the foundation work. Told them to clean it up, and have some rock there and I think we could make it work. Of course, I think in the back of my mind, "we're going to get there and they will have half a skid loader bucket of rock, and none of the dirt will be moved".

Need more cribbing for the 100 ton to set the generators, and I don't like jacking it up high on wood. I've had my eye on some I beam we brought back from a jobsite, so I made two more pads before we went down there, "be prepared" and all that. Its about a two and a half hour car ride to where these generators are, and I don't like not having everything I might need with us.

Use the left over I beam and slid them together, and bought some c channel to cap the ends, welded the uprights as I went.

Well we got down there, and lo and behold, they had the dirt moved, a load of rock there and a skid loader waiting on us. Didn't end up using the new mats, but it was close.

Took a little while to get set up, with digging a little dirt and building up some rock for under the outriggers, but managed to get both generators set. 22,000 lbs each.

Units at a school. This site was about two hours away in the other direction down in arkansas also, so we drove everything over there in the afternoon after setting the generators.

Left it all in Walmart parking lot overnight, because there's no room by the school.

8 or 9 units, biggest was the furthest away (of course:rolleyes:) 3,500lbs or so, 110' away.

Shingles with the rt. I think we may take back the 70 ton when I do the other side. Didn't have hardly enough main boom. And I don't like doing shingles on jib, I'll do it if I have to, I just don't like to.

Prepping some christmas decorations. Its getting closer to that time of year, seems like we just took them down. Square frame for the top, 8 point pick for the bottom section. This one is new, and we were kind of experimenting with how to pick it, and not damage it.

House trusses yesterday. It seems like we've been doing a lot of weekend work, I was at a processing plant last weekend with the 100 ton, and this weekend I had to get some house trusses taken care of, and next weekend I've already got booked. Been averaging 3 of the 4 weekends a month lately, everyone's getting a little worn out. But one plant by us, has only gotten 1 weekend off in the last 3 months, and this is sure better than no work to do.

Glad when you showed up and it was "as promised".....There is nothing more I hate than showing up to a job and what was supposed to be done isn't, especially after a 2 hour ride...."what's the big deal, we'll get it done now, it'll only take an hour or two" that's right, a BILLABLE hour or two...and then when it bleeds into the next day or takes more than 8 hours they get upset at the cost....

.....and as always, real interesting stuff, thanks for taking the time to post the pics!

I had someone else refer me to a used car lot to clear snow. Said the guy was really good. I went to talk to him and made it very clear that I would only clear the lot that is emptied and would not be moving dead cars around or waiting while he moves cars. I show up at the agreed time a couple days later and nothing is moved. He said to give him half an hour to move the cars and then he wants me to help move some dead cars. He said he'd pay me an extra hour but I should have just drove away. Not worth the extra $40 I was charging at the time. Was worse than apartments where some idiots ask if you can clean their stall first so they can park. NO, your car will be in the way. Some jobs it's not worth the BS.

Was offered a job as a snow pusher, guy kept eyeing MY 4x4 to fit a plow on, his were all busted to hell and gone from doing that. Told him thanks but no thanks, he bought a couple skid loaders for his landscape business set them up with big snow buckets, two years dry winters, then Katie Bar the Door massive snowfalls, his hired help destroyed three cars a small truck and bundles of landscaping before the contracting people said enough and he went OOB.

A little work at the local charcoal plant. Last time I pulled pipes, I used my 35 ton grove. It was a absolute pain to get jib and deadstick put together, and then I was scratching chart. 100 ton on main boom, no muss no fuss.

Roofing materials. Wind blew 20mph here early this week, I got the insulation and rubber roofing up there on wednesday morning before the wind picked up. Good thing too, because all its done since then is rain.

They also had a trash/roofers bag, and the dumpster was a poke away. 138' of poke to be exact, but it was all just light insulation and scraps in the bag, so I just laid the boom down easy.
