There are some of those type people in my family.
The out door pad has become a little disfunctional. I have some equipment for the farm but not really an operator for that type of work. Just curious about the material. Thanks for the reply!

Well, like a dummy, my enclosed rops is now semi-enclosed. Trying knock over a tree bit my bucket side window in the ass. The tree was sticking a bit and I was likely just a foot or so too far away, I pushed on the tree, it swayed back while losing some high branches, and smashed my window out... Glass inside my shirt, down my pants all over the cab etc... That was dumb and I'm mad at myself.

This can be a very dangerous occupation. It is quick to punish you should you make a mistake. Look at your task make a safe plan and move forward. Like a cop, going home everyday with all of our limbs, digits, sight and hearing intact, as well as not frying or punching holes in our epidermis's is pretty much our most important task of the day.
Glad you weren't injured :) In the words of Sgt. Esterhaus on Hill Street Blues "Let's be careful out there!"

Been there - done that sad to say. Had tractors and scrapers moving dirt and this one tree limb was hanging out over the spreading area. Was just going to knock the limb down and carry it away - not realizing the tree was hollow!
About an inch of good tree all the way around but not sturdy enough to stand with a bucket on the limb. Broke two glasses.... very mad at me but grateful that was all. Took a chainsaw to get the tree off the hoe. Trying to do better. That was a couple of years ago but still very fresh.

Yeah, this one turned out more elastic and tall than I kind of expected. You sure never know, I'd knocked one over about a minute earlier that came down perfectly and as expected... Tough. Will be buying some plexiglass in a bit. And likely closing the window when I go knock more stuff down.

If you do put plexiglass or lexan in there make sure you never clean it without hosing it off first then be real careful to use soft cleaning stuff on it... or you won't be able to see through it in not time at all.... we've done it for a few things and it don't take much to scratch the crap out of em' in no time.. :( and then when the sun hits it you really can't see though it

Thanks for the tips on plexiglass. That's what I'll use for the time being but mostly for weather protection while the hoe sits. I've had it open every time I've used the machine, so visibility won't be as much an issue.

Oh yeah, learning lessons the hard way... I cut my neighbors cable line while digging stumps. I thought I was in a good spot but I wasn't. I'll be calling before I dig and attempting to figure out a way to more permanently mark the spots than the little flags I'm likely to mow over.

Yeah, I'm thinking that along with printing a satellite shot or from a drone and I can be fairly positive of staying at least 5-10 feet away.

Photos from several different angles helps with locations of underground stuff.

The can help.... however unless you have some really good reference points in the pics then they can be very misleading... We did some utility intercepts for a neighbor a while back and he had all kinds of photos all printed out in 8.5x11 glossy color... the works!!! He had before and after pics of trenches, conduits, pipes,etc.... so we dug based off where his pics showed.... dug for 3 hours and finally found some 1 inch poly??? at 4 feet down... we had holes in several places down 4 plus feet digging carefully some by hand when ever he though we were getting close.... so after all this wasted time thinking the guy knew where stuff was I finallyconvinced the boss I'd run home get my locate gear and hook on his power and trace it to the pump house and outbuildings.... 15 minutes later I had painted lines 10 feet from where he was sure the stuff was.... 8 minutes after that we found the pipes :)

A straight down view like aighead is thinking would be way better than regular pics.

Speaking of working for neighbors, my hoe's latest project has been digging a trash hole for a neighbor down the way. I dug a hole about 15 feet across and 15-17 feet deep in about 2 hours, pretty incredible! He's paying for fuel and I've convinced him to pay me in a handful of boulders I dug out as I got into it! I'm not thrilled about the way I had to pile dirt around the trash this guy had as I'm currently in the process of moving one of my piles to access one of his piles but it should all work out, I think. This was my first dig-it-as-deep-as-you-can project and I'm happy with how it went.

Aighead… Watch out for haz-waste. If you touch it, you could be on the hook with the EPA. And you don't want to be any where near the Feds or the State folks. (States can have more restrictive regulations than Federal regulations... ie California)
see here https://www.epa.gov/hw/summary-requirements-hazardous-waste-land-disposal-restrictions-program

My town has a well water contamination problem from farmers pesticide dumps. It was on their own property until it wasn't.
