D6R II LGP shifting hard

I just put a new transmission in this machine. I calibrated the clutch engagement pressures with ET and it operated great. But after it ran for a couple hours it shifts too hard when you click into first gear forward, it shifts hard into reverse also but not as noticable as forward. I went through the calibration process again and couldn't get clutches 1 or 3 up to a high enough spec pressure.

Just looking on where to go next, I know there's a priority valve mounted down low on the left side of rear housing. But I'm kinda wondering if the modulating valves need replaced. It's a reman transmission and has new valves on it. Machine has about 6 hours on the new transmission.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance, Sean

First of all make sure it has the latest trans flash file in it. I had one that would not shift smooth after multiple calibrations . I updated the flash file and it fixed it. I have no idea how that makes any difference but it does.
The next thing is to verify pump and system pressure. If you can’t get proper clutch pressure after that then you will probably need to do something with valves.
Have you tried swapping valves from one clutch to another ?

I haven't swapped anything yet. I'll check on that flash file. I highly doubt it has the latest one in it. Thanks!! I'll let you know what I find.

While you have ET hooked up check the transmission temp senders. have had a few that were hard shifting and it was the senders reading wrong

Do you have access to the latest flash files? I haven't been back out there yet but I'm the only one that has worked on this machine for the last 12 years or so, so I highly doubt it has the latest version in it.

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
Only dealer versions of ET have the capability of uploading flash files, and for that reason only dealers can actually lay their hands on the software.
Flash File Part Numbers are easier to get hold of. If you post the S/N I can tell you what the latest flash file P/N is for each of the various electronic controls on the machine.
Are there any Active Diagnostic Codes present.?

OK, here we go.

Engine (S/N 4ZF09543). Built with 228-4280. Latest available 318-2090.
Power Train. Built with 228-7374. Latest available 262-1613.
Monitor System (EMS II). This will only require a software upgrade if at any time it fails and is replaced by the later EMS III Module.

An interesting feature of the 262-1613 Powertrain software is that it was designed for use with tractors S/N ADE00497-Up and does not utilize a signal from the intermediate transmission speed sensor. The new software is retrofittable to machines ADE1-496 and does NOT require the intermediate speed sensor to be removed from a machine in that Serial Number range to upgrade to the new software.

Did you only do the engagement pressure calibration?
The fill time calibration should be done after engagement pressures are calibrated and hoses removed. Full time is the one that sets the smooth/firm on shifts.

No but I will now. The new flash file cured this one. Pressures cam up and adjusted to exactly what spec is supposed to be.
