Looking at purchasing a d5g to clean up around my place. What’s your opinion on undercarriage wear based on photos. Any advice appreciated.

That's early System 1. Judging only from the idler position it looks like it is adjust out a little bit and those are probably the sharpest I've seen a sprocket on that type of undercarriage. You should check for any dry links. There's a thread with a video that describes a little about System 1.

You have some distance between the bottom roller flanges and the track pins so you should be OK for awhile unless you have a bunch of dry links.

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
Lots of threads on here that discuss Cat's SystemOne undercarriage, I would say none of them are very positive. It all depends on how many hours you are planning on putting on the machine per month, year, etc that could be the main factor in your case. If the dozer doesn't have to earn a living you could possibly make SystemOne U/C work.
SystemOne can be converted to "conventional" Heavy Duty undercarriage but a) it's not a straight swap (some welding & fabbing involved), and b) it won't be cheap because everything in the U/C is different between the two systems.
On the plus side HD undercarriage opens up a world of aftermarket suppliers where Cat is the sole source for SystemOne parts.
You pays your money...……..

Welcome to the Forums Rsaltzma!

You got lucky on your first thread and got two of our best mechanical minds to give their $.02 - which can be invaluable.:D

I am no mechanic just a 1/2 ass contractor and part time moderator but your UC looks better than the one on my D5G, however I do not have System 1.

What's going on with the one track pad with the clipped grouser in pic #1?
