The pump on our 450clc was making some noise so we took an oil sample and sent it to cat. Came back normal no contamination... pump died 200 hours later and the oil is filled with brass. So now i have a nice headache.
Deere wants 28k for a pump. Found one on ebay for 12k but honestly even 12 is to high for a machine that on its best day is worth 20k. Anyone have any ideas? Im thinkong aboit pullong the pump apart but would i be able to find the internals somewhere other than deere?

That is possible. Do you have any experience with hydraulic pump teardown and repair? Plenty of knowledgeable people here to help out. Pics would be preferred also. I cant even fathom a pump for that machine costing that kind of money.

I have never done a piston pump before. But as long as i have some guidance i feel comfortable doing it. I have rebuilt cats, macks, eatons, main control valves...

My biggest concern is tearing the pump down and the parts costing as much as a reman pump.

If you have a pump part number, call Flint Hydraulics in Memphis and give them that part number. If they don't have a replacement option, ask if they can get parts for it. You better have the ID plate on the pump handy with the make, model, and serial number of the pump itself.
